Internet problem: "dns probe finished no Internet" when trying to open any site

Hello. I have a problem: while working with a computer, the Internet suddenly disappeared. Whichever site I didn’t go to, it always wrote "No access to the Internet" and an error like "dns probe finished no Internet". At the same time, Wi-Fi and the Internet work throughout the house on all devices and load everything except this computer. Router, the computer restarted several times, but nothing helped.

I checked all the wires, changed the cables, but everything also does not work. The Internet goes from the provider's cable to the "Phone adapter with router" device (No, I am very versed in this matter), from it an ethernet cable to the router, from the router LAN cable to the computer. Router from Domru Netgear N150 WNR612-2EMRUS. An internet cable is also connected to the router. As a result, I created a second user (it costs Windows 7), but the same thing - the Internet does not work.

I booted to a long-established XP, and everything worked like clockwork there. I reread all your and other people's articles, but nothing helps. I changed the IP and DNS ports, set it automatically, turned off ipv6, turned off the firewall and antivirus too, but everything was useless. I dug into system32, but I did not find viruses on my own. Now with XP I turned on the antivirus to check the disks (on the seven, the antivirus took it down altogether, thinking that the problems were due to it). I suffer for a whole day. Help me please!

Answer

Hello. Special thanks for describing everything in detail. I just wanted to clarify:

  1. On the problem computer, where the error "dns probe finished no Internet" appears, is the Internet connection status normal? Without a yellow exclamation point?
  2. What did you do before? Maybe you changed some settings, or installed something?
  3. Does this "No internet access" error appear in all browsers? Are programs like Skype working?

Write your answer in the comments (if necessary).

1I think that the problem is in some setting in Windows 7 itself. It's strange that changing the DNS addresses to 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 did not help. Did you change correctly? In the properties of the local area network connection, for the Internet Protocol version IPv4?

It should look like this:

I wrote more about this in the article: Can't find the DNS address of the server. Be sure to read it.

2If all browsers have the error "No Internet access", then be sure to check the proxy server settings. How to do this, I wrote in the article: Windows could not automatically detect the proxy settings of this network. The article itself is not entirely about your problem, but if for some reason your proxy settings have been changed, then the error "dns probe finished no Internet" may appear. 3 Well, and the method that I think should definitely help. Reset network settings. In Windows 7, this can be done through the command line (run as administrator). By executing the following commands in turn:

ipconfig / flushdns

ipconfig / registerdns

ipconfig / renew

ipconfig / release

More or less like this:

Then restart your computer and try to open sites.

The solutions in all these articles are very similar, but as practice shows, they work.
