If you have already bought, or are going to buy a Tenda F3 router, and you are worried about setting up this router, then you do not need to worry about this. The Tenda F3 control panel is very simple and straightforward. Moreover, in Russian and Ukrainian languages. The router also comes with a detailed setup guide. Well, if you have any problems, or incomprehensible moments in the process of setting up Tenda F3, then you can do everything according to my instructions. You can also always ask a question in the comments.

The most important thing in setting up any router is to correctly set the parameters for connecting to the Internet. Therefore, you must know what type of connection your Internet provider uses, and based on the type of connection, you may need the necessary parameters. I will tell you more about this in the corresponding section. The setup procedure is as follows:

  • We connect to Tenda F3 via Wi-Fi, or by cable, and connect the Internet to the router.
  • We go into the settings of the router.
  • Setting up an Internet connection.
  • Setting up a Wi-Fi network. Set a password.
  • We set a password that protects the settings of the router.

We can start setting up.

Router connection

Everything follows the standard scheme. Plug in the power adapter and plug it into a power outlet. Connect the Internet (cable of the Internet provider) to the WAN port. On Tenda F3 it is highlighted with a blue stripe. Using the network cable that you will find in the kit, connect the router to a PC or laptop.

If you do not have a computer and you will be configuring from another device (smartphone, tablet) via Wi-Fi network, then connect it to the wireless network, which will appear immediately after turning on the router. It will be named "Tenda_some numbers". The network is open by default.

If the network with a different name is protected by a password (which you do not know), then you can reset the router settings to factory defaults.

To return to factory settings, press the "WPS / RST" button for 10 seconds.

When only the SYS indicator remains lit, the button can be released.

Note! Once you connect to the router, the connection status may be "No Internet access". This is normal.

Login to the Tenda F3 web interface and quick setup

Open any browser on the device that you connected to Tenda F3. In the address bar (not in the search bar!) Enter the address 192.168.0.1... Follow it. If the page with settings does not open, then look at the detailed instructions.

If the router has not yet been configured, it is at the factory settings (you can reset them yourself, wrote about this above), then the page with the quick setup wizard will open. On this page, you need to specify the type of connection (which your provider uses) and set the parameters for the connection (the provider issues them, if necessary). There you can also change the name of the Wi-Fi network and set a password for the Wi-Fi network.

It turns out that you can set all the settings on one page! Set all parameters. Make sure everything is correct and click "Ok".

The router will display a message that everything has been saved and ask you to connect to the network with a new name (if you have changed it). Also, to connect to this network, you need to use the set password.

The router will reboot.

After that go to 192.168.0.1 again. If you see on the main page that the router is connected to the Internet, then everything is fine. The router is almost set up.

It remains to set a password that will protect the control panel (more on this later in the article).

If between "Router" and "Internet" is written "Disabled", then you need to check the parameters. Below I will show you how to do this and in which sections.

Setting up an Internet connection (WAN)

Go to the "Internet Settings" section.

Everything is very simple there. First, select the type of connection. If your ISP uses "Dynamic IP" then nothing else needs to be configured. Save the settings. If PPPoE, PPTP, L2TP, then you need to specify the username and password at least.

You can check all the connection data with the support of the Internet provider, look in the Internet connection agreement, or on the provider's website.

The article may come in handy: what type of connection to specify when configuring the router.

For example: PPPoE setting (Dom.ru, Rostelecom, TTK):

Click Ok. It is advisable to reboot the router and go to the settings. The status should be: "You have access to the Internet."

How to clone a MAC address (if the provider makes a binding)

In Tenda F3, these settings have hidden something far. You can simply register the MAC address of the router at the provider (by phone or in your personal account). It is indicated on the sticker below.

If you want to clone MAC, then go to the "Management" section. In the "Clone MAC Address" menu, select enter manually, and enter the MAC of the computer to which the Internet is bound.

How to see the MAC address of a computer (network card), I wrote here.

Setting up a Wi-Fi network Tenda F3

In the Wireless Setup section, enter the Wireless Network Name and Wireless Password. You don't need to change anything else.

Devices that were already connected to the wireless network will need to re-establish the connection.

Setting a password for entering the web interface

The web interface is a page with router settings. And so that everyone who is connected to your router cannot access it, I recommend protecting it with a password. You can install it in the "Management" section. Just enter your new password and click Ok. Write down your password so you don't forget. If you forget it, you will need to reset the router settings.

Now, when entering the settings, you will need to specify a password.

Everything, the control panel is protected.

You can connect your devices to Tenda F3 and use the Internet.
