Huawei has two popular network devices: Huawei HG8245 and Huawei HG8240. These are optical terminals with which users can get high-speed Internet access using GPON technology. And it is these modems that large Internet providers offer their users. For example, Rostelecom.
These are essentially two absolutely identical devices. Only the HG8245 model is able to distribute the Internet via Wi-Fi, while the HG8240 does not.
In this manual, I want to show in detail how to enter the settings of the Huawei HG8245. Well, and accordingly, the instruction is suitable for the HG8240. We'll walk through the process of entering the Equation Bar. I will tell you which IP address you need to go to in order to enter the web interface, and what factory login and password you need to specify to enter the settings.
There are many reasons why you may need access to the settings of these Huawei modems. For example, to change the password for Wi-Fi, set up a modem connection to the Internet, set up IPTV, or update the firmware.
There is information that Rostelecom wants to make (or has already done) the ability to remotely configure modems. This means that only representatives of the provider's support will be able to enter the settings of the Rostelecom modem and change some parameters there. They will log in remotely. This means that your Huawei HG8245 settings may not open.
In any case, I recommend trying to go to the control panel of your modem if you need it.
How do I open the settings page for the HG8245 and HG8240?
1 Must connect to a modem. Your computer via cable (or phone, tablet via Wi-Fi) must be connected to the terminal. The cable must be included with the modem.

As a rule, the default is: login (Account) - root, password - admin.
If they do not fit, then try specifying login - telecomadmin and password - admintelecom.
Then press the "Login" button and the settings of our Huawei modem should open.

If you cannot open the modem settings
It is not uncommon for the modem settings page to simply not open. An error appears something like "Failed to display the page", or "Failed to access the site." A few tips:
- First check if your device is connected to the modem.
- Try going to 192.168.100.1 from a different browser. If possible, then from another device.
- In the properties of the IPv4 LAN connection, you can register a static IP address: 192.168.100.2 and a subnet mask.
