Hello! Did everything as it is written in the article https://help-wifi.com/zyxel/nastrojka-zyxel-keenetic-v-rezhime-repitera-wi-fi-klienta-ispolzuem-router-kak-tochku-dostupa/. I used 2 Zyxel routers, the main router is modern, but the second one is 11 years old with the old firmware version. All necessary settings items are present, but differ in description. I failed to update the firmware version of the old router, I could not find its model, it is nowhere on the case.

When everything was connected, only one of my networks appeared, as it should have been. The wi-fi distribution indicator on the secondary router is on, but nevertheless, neither the main router nor its own wi-fi is distributed. MB have I missed some setting or do I have to update the firmware?

Answer

Hello! I'm sorry to be late with the reply.

There are a lot of confusing points in your case. If your old Zyxel still has a repeater mode, then everything should work. But I don't know what kind of router you have, firmware, what settings are there, etc. I did not configure old devices from Zyxel in this mode.

Basically, after setup, there should be one Wi-Fi network, but strengthened by a second router. Moreover, if the Wi-Fi indicator on it is active.

Go to the settings of the second Zyxel, see what the status of the connection to the main Wi-Fi network is.

As for the firmware update, the router model and other information can be found in the same router control panel.
