Problems with the Internet over Wi-Fi in Windows 10

Recently, I have already written many articles on Windows 10: Internet connection, Wi-Fi operation, Internet problems, etc. After updating, or a clean installation of Windows 10, many face a lot of problems, and not only in the work of the Internet. Someone has lost Wi-Fi altogether, the computer does not see the network cable, does not connect to Wi-Fi, the "Limited" error, etc.

I noticed that a large number of problems arise from drivers. When there are no drivers for wireless Wi-Fi adapters or network cards under Windows 10. And if there are drivers, then they do not always work correctly. And those drivers that the "ten" itself selects and installs also very often do not work correctly, or do not work at all. And the driver is a very important thing. It "tells" the operating system how to work with this or that equipment.

Let's hope that in the near future the manufacturers of laptops (wireless adapters and network cards) will prepare drivers optimized for Windows 10. And the "ten" itself will learn to work more stably with the equipment, and select the right software.

You can try to fix the problems with the Internet in Windows 10 yourself, which we will now do.

Windows 10: problems with the Internet over Wi-Fi

Oddly enough, when connecting wirelessly, you can encounter a large number of different errors and problems. This is not only in the top ten, in Windows 7, 8, or XP, there are also enough of them (you can read articles on our website :)).

Since I have already prepared instructions with solutions for the main problems, I will just give links.

First of all, I'll leave here a link to an article on setting up the Internet in Windows 10. There I wrote about different connection methods. You may need to set up a connection to your ISP (if you are not using a Wi-Fi router).

Problem: there is no Wi-Fi power button, there is no list of networks available for connection

And if you open the settings, the Airplane mode tab, there will be an inscription"We could not find any wireless devices on this computer".

It is not difficult to guess that the system simply does not see the adapter (the piece of hardware itself), with which it could be connected to Wi-Fi. Why doesn't he see? Correct, because no driver is installed, or installed but incorrect.

You need to check the device manager, and try to update (install the driver), if you can find it for Windows 10. Whatever happens here, I just give a link to a detailed article on solving this problem: How to turn on Wi-Fi in Windows 10 when there is no Wi button -Fi and "Could not find wireless devices on this computer" error.

"Connection limited"

Such a problem can appear both when connected via Wi-Fi and via a network cable. A yellow exclamation mark icon appears next to the internet connection icon.

It looks something like this:

There are many reasons, and very different. We examined this problem in detail in the article "Connection is limited" in Windows 10 via Wi-Fi and a network cable.

Can't connect to wireless network

An article to resolve the "Unable to connect to this network" error.

If you can't connect your laptop to Wi-Fi, but he sees the network, then you can try to "forget the network" and re-establish the connection. How to forget the network, I wrote here.

The system remembers information about some kind of Wi-Fi network (to which it was previously connected). And if this information does not match when trying to establish a connection, an error appears. Therefore, you just need to delete the required network.

Well, no one canceled the usual restart of the laptop and the router (if there is such an opportunity). It often helps.

If the Internet does not work via cable

I personally encountered the problem of connecting to the Internet via a network cable through a router immediately after installing Windows 10. The computer did not react in any way when the network cable was connected to the Asus laptop.

As it turned out, the problem was with the network adapter driver. I downloaded a new one, installed it, and it worked. I was also lucky that for my laptop there was already a driver working in the top ten. For more information about the solution, see the article: Internet does not work in Windows 10 after connecting a network cable.

You may encounter about the same problem when setting up a high-speed connection (PPPoE) to the Internet. I also advise you to immediately check the driver and update it.

And with USB (3G / 4G) modems the same story. For many models, so far there are simply no necessary drivers, therefore, the computer refuses to see the modem. And the driver downloaded from the Internet, or the driver from the disk, simply does not fit.

And further...

If all else fails, then describe your problem in detail in the comments. Well, don't forget to share your decisions on this topic. Together we are strong:)

If possible, I will add new information here. After all, Windows 10 is just emerging, and there is still much to come :)
