Hello! Today I will devote some time to reviewing the TurboPad 802i Android tablet, with a screen of 8 inches and powered by an Intel Atom chipset.

The appearance of the device is classic - a dark rectangle, slightly glossy at the front, matte at the back. On the back there is a special coating that prevents the tablet from sliding in your hands. Above the screen there is a speaker and a webcam window, the screen itself is covered with protective glass.

On the left side there is a volume rocker and a power button. At first, the question may arise - where, in fact, is the slot for memory cards? To access it, just remove the small cover on the back. And here they are, expansion slots - one for memory cards, two others for SIM cards. Note that the SIM cards are full-sized, no micro / nano.

The display is made on the basis of a high-quality IPS matrix. In general, now there are two main technologies in the production of liquid crystal matrices - TN and IPS. The first is distinguished by a slightly lower cost, but the image quality suffers. This is especially true for viewing angles. You tilt the tablet towards you or away from you and the colors begin to distort. Sound familiar? IPS matrices do not have such disadvantages, whatever the device may say, the image remains unchanged.

And the color rendition is excellent. But back to the tablet - the picture on the screen is pleasing to the eye, the backlight is bright enough. The only thing to complain about is the range of its adjustment. I would like to see an additional mode here - as dim as possible, for night reading. The screen resolution is 1280x800 (16:10 ratio), the pixels are difficult to see if you don't look closely.

Operating system - Android 5.1, perhaps one of the most stable at the moment (on a par with version 4.4.4). There are few preinstalled applications, and even those are not blocked. If the need arises, they are easy to remove. Which is what I did with games, for example.

The processor, as I said, is manufactured by Intel - Atom x3-C3230. It is built on the basis of the x86 architecture - both Android and regular Windows devices work on this CPU. Quad-core processor, clock frequency - 1.2GHz. The Mali-450MP4 adapter is responsible for the graphics. This bundle works quite well, it can handle any tasks. To be more precise - HD-video 1080p is played without problems, web pages are loaded instantly.

I tested WPS Office as an office application - it is convenient to work with documents, nothing slows down or bugs, even when opening large Excel tables. To test the gaming capabilities, I launched the popular Clash of clans, WoT: Blitz and Asphalt 8. I played a little to look at the number of frames and graphics - everything is fine, there is nothing to complain about. It is clear that powerful Snapdragons and NVidia Tegra can do more, but the price is different there. So those who like to play from time to time TurboPad 802i will hardly disappoint.

And finally, let's move on to the most thematic section of the review - the network capabilities of the tablet. Let's start with the mobile Internet - it is fast enough in the tablet, the HSDPA / HSUPA standards are supported. The real speed is up to 1.7 Mb / s, but a lot, of course, depends on the network coverage. There is also Wi-Fi (standard N), as well as Bluetooth v.4.0. There are no restrictions on the use of these technologies - Bluetooth supports both sound transmission to wireless speakers and sending files to other devices. The speed is about 0.24 Mb / s, Bluetooth can also be used to distribute the Internet to other devices.

Wi-Fi speed is about 21Mb / s, communication works without problems through a couple of walls (not capital, of course). Again, there is a Hot Spot mode where the tablet acts as a wireless hotspot. Activated by a couple of clicks in the settings. Directly next to it, there is also a mode that has been familiar since the days of the first phones with GPRS - an Internet modem via a USB cable. I doubt that it will be in great demand, the number of devices without Wi-Fi is inexorably decreasing, but why not, universality always pleases.

In addition to mobile Internet and short-range communication modules, the tablet is also equipped with navigation systems. You can use both GPS satellites and domestic GLONASS. in open areas, communication is confident, in deep tunnels and rooms, of course, it disappears. But it also recovers quickly - so, when leaving the tunnel, TurboPad was able to pick up a signal after 5 seconds.

Finally - about the battery of the device. Average capacity, 3500mAh. It is enough for a day and a half of moderate load / 4.5 hours of 720p video. The tablet is charged from a complete universal device with a USB output. So there will be no problems with charging, USB-micro-USB cables are now sold at every turn. If you suddenly want to replace the one that comes with the kit. Or take an extra one in the car, for example. Charging from 5 percent to 100 percent takes about 2 hours.

In general, the tablet is not bad. I did not find any special flaws, the TurboPad 802i works quite stably and quickly. The box, by the way, is bright and cute, so it can be considered as a gift. To yourself or someone else 🙂
