For an apartment I want to buy an Archer C8 / C9 and a RE200 / RE210 repeater or an Archer C20 (for example) in conjunction with it. What do you recommend? The apartment is elongated, and the Internet is brought out in the outer room.

Answer:

The TP-LINK Archer C8 router is familiar, a powerful router. As for the repeaters RE200 and RE210 are also good dual-band models. If the question is whether such a scheme will work, an Archer C8 / C9 router with a repeater, then of course everything will work. Whether these devices are enough to cover a Wi-Fi network throughout your apartment, I don't know. Since I can't even imagine what kind of apartment you have. Perhaps one router will be enough there. By the way, you can first buy a router, install it, and then buy a repeater if necessary.

And if the question is in buying a repeater, or another router, then it is better to take a repeater. Indeed, the same Archer C20 does not have a repeater mode, only WDS. This mode is not very suitable for you. If you buy a router that will act as a repeater, then it is better to take ZyXEL, or ASUS. But that doesn't make sense if you can buy a special device like the TP-LINK RE200.

Of course, for maximum speed and stability of the wireless network, it is best to put another router, for example Archer C20, and connect it to the first one via a network cable. But it is clear that such an opportunity is not always available. I don't really want to lay cables around the apartment.
