Good afternoon.

Router model: D-Link 615 E4
Adapter model: TP-Link Archer T6E v1.0
OS: Windows 7 x64

I can't get the adapter to work in the 802.11n standard.

The speed is constantly jumping, up to the dropout in 802.11b.

At the same time, the phone lying at 20 cm works great (in the figure you can see the PC adapter is marked with a green line).

What solution methods have been tried:

  1. enumeration of all possible drivers that I could find (both from the official site and for the BCM-43xx)
  2. the WirelessMode parameter was set in the registry with a value of 6 (this parameter had to be entered by myself, since initially it was not even present in the registry)
  3. reassignment of adapter parameters through the device manager in all possible variations

Answer

Good afternoon. It would be nice, of course, to check the adapter with a different router (Wi-Fi network). TP-Link Archer T6E and D-Link 615 E4 router support 802.11n and the adapter should keep a stable connection in this standard. Why it connects in the slower 802.11b and 802.11g is not clear. Is the actual connection speed also much slower compared to other devices?

The first solution that immediately comes to mind is to put the router in 802.11n mode. That is, select not mixed mode in the Wi-Fi (802.11 Mode) settings, but only 802.11n. Your D-Link 615 E4 should have this capability. I will not give you any details, since I don’t know how the web interface looks on your router. There they come in different varieties.

You wrote that you experimented with the Wi-Fi settings of the TP-Link Archer T6E adapter in the device manager. As I understand it, we are talking about subtle (additional) properties. There may be a property, something like "Wireless Mode", have you tried changing the value to 802.11n?
