After that, I used this camera for a few more days, and decided to make a separate page with a review and reviews. Now we will take a closer look at the TP-LINK NC250 IP camera, I will tell you for what purposes it is best to use it, what features and advantages this model has. Well, I'll write what specifically I liked about this model and what not.
TP-LINK is positioning this camera as a solution for monitoring the home, office, workers, children, etc. In fact, everything is correct. Installing even one cloud camera such as TP-LINK NC250 will allow you at any time, in real time, to observe everything that happens in a certain room. Even if you are in another country. You only need an internet connection. We launch the application and watch the broadcast from the camera. In the same way, you can observe, for example, a child, being in another room, or employees in your store, cafe, etc. Or by installing this camera in the house, you will always be calm that everything is in order there, and thieves have not yet settled 🙂
It must be admitted that such a device can be very useful in certain situations. Of course, IP cameras have been on the market for a long time, but when I tested the camera myself, it was as if I discovered something new. Lots of interesting features.
Main features of the TP-LINK NC250 camera
Just want to highlight the main features of this camera, which I liked.
- This is a cloud camera. What it means: right now you can type in the search engine the query "setting up an IP camera" and open any article. You will be shocked by how much you need to study the material and make settings in order to access the IP-camera via the Internet. TP-LINK NC250 camera works through TP-LINK Cloud. What it means: no IP settings or anything else. We put the application on the phone, register on tplinkcloud.com, and get access to the camera from anywhere with Internet access. - Minimum wires + Wi-Fi signal amplification. The camera connects to your router via Wi-Fi. The camera itself only needs to be powered up. By the way, there is an extension cord in the kit. What's more, the TP-LINK NC250 camera can work as a Wi-Fi network booster. That is, act as a repeater.
- Good video quality. HD 720p, H.264 compression.
- This camera is very cool at night. Even in complete darkness, everything can be seen very well. The manufacturer writes that night video surveillance is up to 5.5 meters. I did not measure, but in the article at the link above, I showed what kind of picture is obtained in complete darkness.
- Email notification function after motion or sound detection. This feature can be configured in the camera control panel. As soon as the camera detects movement or sound, it will immediately send a notification to your mail. And you can already go through the application and see what is happening there.
- There is a possibility of mounting on a wall or ceiling. I myself did not fix it, but the kit contains everything you need.
A small review of TP-LINK NC250
The camera looks interesting, you will agree. See the photo at the top of the page. Almost the entire camera is made of glossy white plastic. It is clear that nothing will hold it together, it rattles, etc. Everything is clear here.
Thanks to the functional mount, the camera itself can be directed in relation to the stand in almost any direction.
On the front panel there is the camera's eye itself, a sensor (most likely lighting, the camera itself turns on the night mode), and a microphone hole. There is also an indicator, which, by the way, can be turned off in the settings.
The rear panel contains a power connector, an Ethernet port, and a WPS / RESET button with an indicator.

I liked the camera. For this price, a great video surveillance solution. There is another model, cheaper and simpler - TP-LINK NC220. Alternatively, you can consider it.
I did not notice any special problems and shortcomings in this camera. Unless I would have added rubber feet to the stand, and slightly reworked the proprietary PC program called TP-LINK Camera Control. Through this program, the video went with delays, but through the phone everything is fine. Maybe this is my problem, I can't say for sure. Well, the Russian language, it would be nice to see the camera control panel and the program itself for a computer in Russian. TP-LINK, it's not difficult!
