How to relay an open Wi-Fi network indoors (to the house)

Hello. I would like to get an exhaustive answer, because in this matter, a layman and having reread articles 20 did not come to an answer. There is a network outside the walls of the building, to which I connect without a problem from any device with a wi-fi module (while on the street). But there is a problem, an almost meter-long wall of brick and concrete + insulation and metal saydeng jam the signal indoors to zero (the devices do not find the network at all). What devices to assemble a circuit for the signal to enter the house, or rather:

  • What kind of antenna is needed (I never found information about the receiving one or the broadcasting one may be it)
  • The cable with which connectors should be
  • What devices are still required and in what order to assemble them
  • How to set them up, there are network data, but you can't get to the distributing device (fenced, stationary communication center from Rostelecom).

In general, you need step-by-step instructions on how to connect and configure INTO in order to send a signal to the building. If important, then the network is needed mainly for handheld devices, and at least in one room). A private house. I am very grateful for the earlier.

Answer

Hello. I can hardly give you step-by-step instructions, since this is not realistic. Everything needs to be looked at in place, and already something can be advised.

I think that in any case it is necessary to lay cables outside. Supply power to some kind of access point, or repeater, or remove the antenna from the router (which is hardly of course). Is there an opportunity to lead the cables through the wall, or to power some device outside? It's just that if mobile devices in the house do not see the network at all, then the repeater will not see it either. And if you see it, the connection will be very unstable.

However, I'm not at all sure that this scheme will work stably. Right under the wall (behind which it no longer catches), is the signal good?
