Hello! Essence: ZyXEL router, Rostelecom provider. A PC is connected to the router with a cable - the Internet is working. 2 laptops are connected via Wi-Fi - each Internet works without interruption. Android phones are connected to the Wi-Fi network (the icons on the phones are blue as expected), but the Internet appears periodically in them. On a Lenovo phone (Android 4.2), the router takes a long time to connect the Internet, and when it does, it may not cut off up to 2 hours, sometimes longer. On Samsung (Android 7.0), the Internet appears within 15 minutes, but after a couple of minutes it is cut off and so on in a circle. Tried other phones - does not connect at all.

Help please, I broke my whole head.

Answer

Hello. An interesting problem. And which model of ZyXEL do you have, with which control panel? New ZyXEL Keenetic in a black case. Did it work before, or immediately after setting up the router, there were problems connecting Android devices?

Go to the settings of your ZyXEL router, to the "Wi-Fi network" section and experiment with the settings.

  • First check that the WPA2-PSK network security type is set. Set the password from 8 digits (for verification, then change it). The network name must be spelled out in English. Save your settings, reboot your router, try connecting your Android devices.
  • If this does not help, then change the channel to some kind of static one. For example, put the 6th. Also save parameters and reboot.
  • Then you can change the channel width to 20 MHz.
  • You can set a different region.
  • In the "Standard" menu, you can try to put only 802.11n (not mixed). If you don't have old devices, they may not connect to 802.11n.

Do not forget to save the parameters and reboot the router.

Try it, experiment. It seems to me that the problem is somewhere there.

And try to disable WPS on the same page:

It can also help.
