Internet Intertelecom disappears (via 3G USB modem). What to do?

Hello! To begin with, I myself use the Internet from Intertelecom from time to time (and lately, I only use it). So, I know very well what it means to lose the Internet, the speed drops, I can't connect to the Internet, etc. I decided to write my thoughts on this matter. I’m just wondering if it’s just me who have such problems with this provider, or everyone’s so (which is most likely).

I have already seen questions on the network more than once, such as: "Internet from Intertelecom disappears, what to do", "Internet speed drops significantly", etc. Please note that this article is about problems that appear after setting up the modem, when you have everything works, and problems appear periodically. If you have a bad Internet speed from Internettelecom right after setting up the modem, then try to configure your modem with the AxesstelPst EvDO BSNL 1.67 program, or install and configure the antenna for the modem.

If anyone is interested, then I have a Huawei EC 306 modem, an unlimited "Super 3G Unlimited" tariff and it all works through the Asus RT-N18U router. That is, the router distributes the Internet from a 3G USB modem to all devices via Wi-Fi. However, it doesn't matter. You just have a 3G modem can be connected to your computer. I also sometimes connect directly, but the problems described in this article remain.

Intertelecom: why the Internet is disconnected and it is impossible to connect

Let's get closer to the topic of the article. Basically, the internet works fine. And the speed on the new tariff is good, plus unlimited. But, there are often problems that I think everyone is familiar with. It happens that the internet just doesn't work for several hours... Either works, but on very, very low speed... It is almost impossible to use it. Also, sometimes my 3G modem is just does not connect to the internet... If on a computer, then this is usually error 678 "The remote computer is not responding"... This error is probably familiar to everyone who uses 3G Internet, and not only from Intertelecom. There are other mistakes too.

And the most interesting thing is that a couple of minutes ago everything worked, and suddenly the Internet was gone. There may be a connection status "without Internet access". Sometimes, simply disconnecting from the Internet and reconnecting saves. Even then, the speed can be very slow. Or it doesn't work at all. And after a while, everything goes away, and the Internet starts working normally. I also noticed that when such problems appear, then on my modem either the green indicator is on or blinking. This means that the modem simply does not see the signal (maybe I'm wrong, correct me).

That is, it turns out that these are problems not in the computer, not in the modem, and not even in the router. These are some failures at the base station at the Intertelecom provider. It is obvious. Since we connect to different base stations, such problems may appear in different ways, or not at all. Here you are already as lucky. It seems to me that everything depends on the workload of the base station. The more clients on the BS, the more problems with the Internet, and it affects the speed very well.

I also noticed that I already had several times in the evenings, the speed dropped almost completely, even the pages in the browser did not open. Here are the measurements in one evening:

And after a few hours everything started working again. The speed was normal. I understand the speed can be lower in the evenings, but not so much.

Support calls. When the Internet was no longer working for several hours, of course I called Intertelecom's support. They never advised me anything specific there. They say the base station is working fine, there are no problems. It is advised to check the connection settings, or try to create a new connection to Intertelecom. Well, you see, this is complete nonsense. After all, a couple of minutes ago everything worked, what could have changed in these settings 🙂

I understand that there are some technical problems, etc. But something very often happens. And when you sit for several hours and wait for the Internet to work again, it’s somehow not very pleasant. It is not clear what you are paying for. If someone from Intertelecom is reading this, please make sure that everything works stably and without interruptions.

Update

In the comments, Ivan wrote that he solved the problem with disconnections by disconnecting the built-in antenna on the modem. When an external antenna is connected to the modem. You can also turn off hybrid mode. I have not tested it myself, but perhaps these solutions will be useful to someone. Google the instructions for disconnecting the external antenna specifically for your modem. Most likely there are instructions on the net.

Conclusions

If your Internet connection via 3G USB modem worked well, and suddenly stopped, there were problems with the connection, or the speed dropped, and you did not change anything (in the settings), then this is definitely a problem on the side of the provider. Most likely, you just need to wait and everything will work.

If the problem persists, then call the support of the Intertelecom provider (if you have this provider). At least let them know about the problem. Maybe something will help.

Even when I was writing this article, the Internet began to work very unstable, the speed dropped dramatically, the connection was disconnected all the time. Even the speed test couldn't do. Probably they didn't want me to publish this article 🙂

How does the Internet from Intertelecom work for you? Are there problems that I wrote about in the article? If so, how often and what do you do. Share in the comments.
