Hello. The problem with the TP-Link TL-WR845N router has been troubling for some time now. After a power outage in the area or problems on the side of the provider, the router does not find the WAN (the indicator is orange). Now in more detail:

When you simply pull out the router from the outlet, nothing like this happens, it works fine.

He loses WAN only after a power outage or problems with the provider

  1. The wired connection is restored after troubleshooting the provider's problems, but not through the router
  2. All the registered settings in the settings panel are saved, at first glance nothing is reset
  3. Resetting and configuring the router helped again. Then I realized that a simple update through the "Status" tab in the settings panel also helps.
  4. Simultaneously with the power outage or malfunctions at the provider, the mobile network of MTS disappears, from stable 4G it drops to E. And these are definitely interrelated things, at other times nothing like this is observed. I do not know how important this point is for solving the problem, but I considered it necessary to report it.

I'd love to avoid having to go into settings after every power outage.

Router: TP-Link TL-WR845N, purchased in April. In addition to the problems described, sometimes for an unclear reason, the speed of the wi-fi connection drops critically, but so far I have associated this with the congestion of the channels around.

Provider: Dom.ru

Mobile operator: MTS

Thank you in advance.

Hello. I'm sorry to be late with the reply.

I think the fault lies with the ISP. After turning off the power on their equipment, your router cannot automatically connect to the Internet. Their server does not provide an address. There are no such special settings on the router. Is that "Connect automatically" in the WAN settings. But this is relevant for connecting via login / password. Yes, and this setting is set by default. And you, as I understand it, the type of connection to the provider is "Dynamic IP". You have not indicated it.

The wired connection is restored after troubleshooting the provider

I didn't understand the first point. Where is this connection being restored?

Do you have a router (namely the WAN settings) correctly configured to connect to an Internet provider? Or are you running some kind of connection on the computer?

Rebooting the router, or disconnecting / connecting the cable to the WAN port does not restore the Internet connection?

You can try updating your router's firmware. I don't see any other solutions that you could apply yourself. You need to contact the provider's support.

About the fact that the 4G signal is lost at the same time. The nearest base station or signal amplifier is simply turned off.
