Hello! Please help me, I ran into a certain task - there is a so-called wifi kernel router, which is connected to the Internet from the provider. From it, 2 more wifi routers are connected via Ethernet cable (on different floors). The task is to ensure that each of the three routers has access via both a wired lan connection and wifi. The main wifi router distributes the Internet via wifi and lan, one of the next two is also (dlink), but the second of these two does not distribute (zyxel keenetic). He broke his whole head, apparently the settings are somehow intricate. Please help me what is there and where ... I will be very grateful!

Answer:

Hello. Yes, on ZyXEL Keenetic you just need to set the correct settings. But, before that, I would advise you to do a factory reset on it.

If you connect the cable to the LAN port (Home network) on the ZyXEL Keenetic, then the router can be configured as an access point. The ZyXEL even has a separate operating mode. How to configure this, I wrote in a separate article https://help-wifi.com/sovety-po-nastrojke/kak-router-sdelat-tochkoj-dostupa-wi-fi/. There is a section on the ZyXEL router.

And if you want the router to work in the router mode, then the cable must be connected to the WAN port (Internet). And set automatic obtaining IP in the router settings (on the "Internet" tab). You can see an example of setting up a ZyXEL Keenetic Start router.
