Foolishly, I put a tick in the settings opposite "Enable for this network the compatibility mode with the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS)", now I can not connect to the network, how can I uncheck this box?

Answer

Go to the "Network and Sharing Center", there go to the "Manage wireless networks" tab. Right click on your network, select Properties. On the "Security" tab, click on the "Advanced Options" button. Uncheck the box next to Enable Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) Compliance Mode for this network.

Should help. If anything, then in the network management you can delete your Wi-Fi network and reconnect to it.
