These two models, TL-WR841N and TL-WR841ND are very popular, and probably for a reason. In fact, very successful router models. They have everything a common user needs. And most importantly, they are totally worth their money. This is the secret of popularity. And also, they work stably, for which they have gained such popularity. These are not the cheapest router models from Tp-Link. There is also Tp-Link TL-WR741ND. But, if you are planning to connect 5 devices, watch videos and play online games, then I would not recommend buying the TL-WR741ND. He often has problems with disconnecting the Internet. But TL-WR841N works much more stable and its price is not much higher.
Many people have a question, what is the difference between these two models of routers, because they look almost the same, and in the name one has just N at the end, and the second has ND. I know for sure that they differ in antennas: for N they are not removable, and for ND they are removable. And so, in appearance, characteristics, functionality, they are almost the same. Perhaps there are differences in the very stuffing of the router, but this is not very important for us. Maybe this is such a marketing ploy to sell more devices :)
My review about TP-LINK TL-WR841N
The main thing is that the model is really successful and popular. And if the model is popular, then you can safely buy it. I am writing this from my own experience. I have been using this model for more than three years, it costs TP-LINK TL-WR841N. I can say with a clear conscience that it works just flawlessly. Day and night. I don’t even remember a case that it would freeze, or something else. No one has ever rebooted it. Almost always, two laptops, three phones and two tablets are connected (sometimes more). We really don't play online games, but we watch online videos often, and not from one device at a time.
The router is good when they write about some problems with the WR841N, or WR841ND, perhaps just a defective model came across. And routers are not always to blame for problems with Wi-Fi networks.
As for the coverage radius, it is enough for a three-room apartment. But, here again there are many nuances that need to be taken into account: the number of walls, their thickness, the location of the router, and three-room apartments are different :)
Does TP-LINK TL-WR841ND's speed cut?
The most important question for many. From my own experience, I can say that it squeezes out 20 Mb / s over Wi-Fi freely. I just have a tariff of up to 20 Mb / s. I'll connect 100 Mb / s and test it again. Here are my screenshots of speed testing via TL-WR841N.

I read many reviews on the Internet that these two models performed very well in terms of Wi-Fi bandwidth. That is, they don't cut the speed very much. I read that it even gives 60 Mb / s over Wi-Fi. Anything can happen, but again, someone has 60, and someone has 5 Mb / s, this is the maximum.
Here you need to understand that a lot of different factors affect the speed: the type of connection, the number of neighboring Wi-Fi networks (interference), the device from which you are measuring, the correct TP-LINK TL-WR841ND configuration, etc. This router, for this moment, there are already 10 hardware versions (revisions). I still have version 7. This means that in each version they changed something in the hardware of the router, improved it, most likely they installed a more powerful processor. Special attention should be paid to the hardware version when flashing TL-WR841ND. Scrap should be required for your version.
