Good afternoon, complete frustration and sadness ... a year ago they gave my mother a Samsung UE40J5000AU TV, everything is fine, but there is a need to connect headphones (wakes up neighbors at night) and here the problem is, maybe it hangs on the wall, there is definitely no way to stick the wire every time ( there is a jack), the TV does not switch to an external source, there is no built-in bluetooth ..... ready to do anything (I don’t understand what) to make wireless headphones possible .... not to sell the TV.

Help me please. The official Samsung brushes it off.

Answer

Good afternoon. There are not many options. Since the Samsung UE40J5000AU does not have a Smart TV, even a branded, external Bluetooth adapter cannot be connected to it. Well, Bluetooth headphones, respectively, too.

There are 3.5mm Bluetooth adapters available though. Which are connected to the headphone jack, and we already connect any wireless headphones via Bluetooth to the adapter. They look something like this:

But in your case, it will not work either, since it will always be connected to the headphone jack and the sound will not sound through the speakers. As is the case with conventional wired headphones.

It seems to me that in your case, the easiest way is to buy a 3.5 mm extension cord. Connect it to the TV, and, if necessary, connect headphones to it, or the same 3.5 mm Bluetooth adapter.

But I just don't know if the sound on the speakers will disappear when the extension cable is connected to a TV without headphones. I can't check, there is no such extension cord. It would be necessary to clarify this with the support.

And you did not ask Samsung support, did not look at the settings themselves, there is definitely no way to output sound to external speakers with headphones connected?

In general, it seems to me that when you even connect an adapter to the connector on the TV, the sound on the speakers is mechanically turned off. And nothing can be done about it.
