Hello. Thank you for being. Health to you! Once you helped me great, and now I ask for help)))

The question is. Everyone probably knows the Magic Remote for LG smart TVs. For example, model AN RM400. Tell me, can I make the remote control with the Android prefix? Minix Neo U1 prefix. Everything works great with a standard airplane console. I connected the set-top box to the LG 42LA644V TV via HDMI MHL. The box itself is great and packed with all the technology. I would like to work through the Magic Remote control in the same way as with the standard one (turn on the set-top box, turn it off, mix the cursor, exit to the desktop and other android actions)

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Answer

Hello. I'm sure it's impossible to connect LG Magic Remote to Android box. Even if the console sees the remote control and somehow miraculously connects to it (there seems to be a need for a password), then this airplane will not work on Android. It only works with LG TVs. And that's not with all models.

TV manufacturers think over the limitations in compatibility with third-party devices to the smallest detail. I think the Magic Remote is no exception.

I haven't tested it of course. I don't have such a remote control. But for the sake of interest, I looked for information on the Internet. There are such questions. People tried to connect Magic Remote to Android, but no one succeeded.

So the proprietary remote control is only for LG TVs, and on Android set-top boxes, you will have to use universal air controls. Or touchpad keyboards. Something like this.
