In this manual, I will tell you in detail and show with an example how to enter the Wi-Fi settings of the Yota modem. To access the Internet using 4G LTE technology, Yota offers its customers a lot of different equipment. Among this equipment there is a USB modem Yota with Wi-Fi, and a mobile Wi-Fi router Yota (Yota Many). The first device can be used as a USB modem or a mobile router to connect up to 8 devices to the Internet wirelessly. The second router distributes the Internet only via Wi-Fi.

To access the settings of these routers, you can use the status.yota.ru address, or the IP address: 10.0.0.1. By going to this address in your browser, from the device that is connected to the modem, you will be taken to the settings of the Yota router. Where you can change the password for Wi-Fi, network name, set the security type, see the signal strength and other useful information.

I noticed that many at status.yota.ru are trying to open not the modem settings, but the Yota personal account, and even want to replenish their Internet account there. But this is wrong. At this address, as well as 10.0.0.1, you will not be able to enter your personal account. These addresses are used exclusively for accessing the control panel by the modem itself, or by the router.

A personal account and a page with modem settings are different things.

Let's take a closer look at both cases.

How to enter your Yota personal account?

You need to go to the provider's personal account on the website https://www.yota.ru. Where by specifying e-mail, phone, account number, as well as password, you will get access to your personal account. Where you can check your account, top up your account, view statistics, your devices, tariff, speed, etc.

This is how the personal account of a Yota subscriber looks like:

I think we sorted it out.

10.0.0.1 and status.yota.ru: access to device (router) settings

To access the settings of the mobile router or modem itself, you must be connected to it. Either the Wi-Fi modem must be connected to the USB port of the computer, or you must be connected to its Wi-Fi network with the factory name "YOTA".

On a computer (or smartphone, tablet) open a browser and enter the address in the address barstatus.yota.ru... Navigate through it by pressing Enter.

If you can't enter, an error appears that the page is unavailable, etc., then try the address 10.0.0.1.

A control panel should open with information about the modem, speed, connection status:

You can click on the "Device Settings" button and change the Wi-Fi network parameters:

Additional settings can be opened at http://status.yota.ru/advanced.

Why doesn't he go to status.yota.ru?

Unfortunately, sometimes when trying to access the web interface of the modem, various problems may appear. Most often, the page at status.yota.ru or 10.0.0.1 simply does not open. An error may appear that "the page is not available", or "the site cannot be accessed".

Here are some tips to try to fix this problem:

  • Disconnect the Yota Wi-Fi modem from the computer and reconnect. If this is not a USB modem, but a Yota Many, then just unplug and re-enable the power.
  • If you are trying to enter the settings of a modem that is connected via USB, you can try to connect to its wireless network and go to the control panel via Wi-Fi.
  • Try to log into status.yota.ru from another browser or device. You can even use your phone or tablet. Just connect it to the Wi-Fi network of a mobile router from Yota.
  • If the modem is still not available (including at 10.0.0.1), then you need to check the network settings on the computer (if you are trying to log in from the computer). This is not difficult to do.

Checking network parameters

Go to "Network Connections".

Next, you need to open the properties of the connection through which you are connected to the Yota modem. If you are connected via Wi-Fi, then this adapter is "Wireless Network" (in Windows 10), or "Wireless Network Connection" (in Windows 7). If the modem is connected via USB, then it will most likely be the adapter "Local Area Connection 2", or "Ethernet 2" (the number may be different).

Just right click and select Properties. For example, I'm connected to a mobile router (aka a modem) via Wi-Fi:

Next, we set the automatic obtaining of IP and DNS for the IPv4 protocol.

If this did not help, or automatic receipt of addresses was set there, then you can try to register static addresses:

IP address: 10.0.0.2

Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

Default gateway: 10.0.0.1

DNS can be specified 8.8.8.8.

After these settings, the page at the IP address 10.0.0.1 should definitely open.

If all else fails, then it is quite possible that this is some kind of software or hardware failure of the modem.

I hope you were able to go to the settings of your mobile router from the Yota provider and change the necessary parameters. If you still have any questions about this article, feel free to ask them in the comments below.
