Hello! Now I will show and tell you how you can reset the settings and the password on the D-Link DIR-300 router. Not expensive, and a very popular router model, which is very often asked questions. We already have instructions on how to reset the settings on the D-Link router on our website, but I decided to prepare a separate material specifically for the D-Link DIR-300 model.

Very often there is a situation when you cannot enter the settings of the DIR-300 router, the password just does not fit. The authorization page is being updated and that's it. We open the settings at 192.168.0.1, a login and password request appears, specify admin, and Nothing happens... The fact is that you, or the one who set up the router, changed the password itself, and now it does not work. You need to reset the password on your D-Link DIR-300, and then the standard password is most likely to be used - admin. And if the page with the login and password request does not even open for you, then look for a solution to this problem in the article: what to do if it does not go into the router settings for 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1?

Well, resetting the settings may come in handy in another situation. For example, you configured something incorrectly and want to start over. Or, when the D-Link DIR-300 starts to fail, does not work as it should, or stops distributing Wi-Fi, you can also just drop the settings to the factory settings and set it up again.

Since there are so many options for the DIR-300 model, this manual will work for everyone. And even for D-Link DIR-320. There are two ways to clear the settings:

  • With the help of a special RESET button, which is on the body of the D-Link DIR-300 router.
  • And through the settings. But, I will not describe this method, it makes no sense. Since the settings most likely do not open for you.

Instructions for resetting the password (settings) on the DIR-300 using the button

The router must be turned on. Find the button on the body of your router RESET... Most likely, it is recessed into the body. Take something sharp and press the RESET button. You need to press and hold for 10-15 seconds... The router will reboot and the settings and password will be restored to factory defaults.

After these steps, the default admin password will be used to enter the settings. Or just the username admin, and leave the "Password" field not filled... I also noticed that there are many cases when it is impossible to reset the settings. After pressing the RESET button, nothing happens. I think that if you can't reset the settings, then the problem is most likely in the hardware itself. Have you encountered such a problem? How did you decide?
