Why doesn't the wireless bridge mode work on D-link Dir-320?

Good afternoon!

Following your advice, I configured the D-link Dir-320 router in bridge mode. I connected to the existing wifi network (on the Asus WR RT-AC51U) in the wifi / client settings, created a WiFiClient connection in the WAN section, changed the IP address of the router in the LAN settings to 192.168.0.2 so that it did not intersect with the IP of the main router. Everything seems to work, but it doesn't.

The MAC address of the second router is registered (allowed) in the MAC filters of the main one.

By the way, I forgot to say that on the receiving router (D-link) I want to distribute the Internet via cable, via LAN.

Do you have any idea what the problem might be?

Answer

Good afternoon. I think the problem is with the MAC address settings. If the main router (in your case Asus RT-AC51U) distributes the Internet, and you configure the D-link Dir-320 in wireless bridge mode according to the instructions in the "client", "bridge" and "repeater" mode on the D-LINK router, then everything should work without issue.

We have already written about a similar problem. Also, the MAC address of the router (which connects to another) was registered in the list of allowed ones. And nothing worked. It's not very clear why you added the MAC address to the allowed list. Is the Asus RT-AC51U MAC address filtering configured? If so, you will have to disable it.

You can try to do a reset on the D-link Dir-320 and once again configure the bridge according to the instructions. Try to connect to a different Wi-Fi network. But I think it's about the MAC address filter settings.
