New instructions for configuring routers from Mercusys. And this time we will be tweaking the Mercusys MW325R. I will show you the whole process of connection and configuration. For some reason, many users usually ignore the instructions that come with the router. And looking for a setup guide on the internet. There are equipment in which both the menu and the manual are in English. But Mercusys took care of this, and put a manual in Russian and Ukrainian in the box with the router. The web interface is also in Russian.

Since I have already reviewed the Mercusys MW325R, we can go straight to the setup. If you accidentally came to this page and you don't have the MW325R yet, then I recommend reading my review.

To make it work for us, you need to properly connect the Mercusys MW325R. First of all, plug in the power and turn on the router. Connect the Internet to the WAN port. A cable from an Internet provider (perhaps you have an ADSL modem). If you will be setting up from a PC or laptop, then I recommend connecting the router via a network cable, which can be found in the kit. It should look something like this:

If you don't have a device that can be connected to the MW325R using a network cable, then connect via Wi-Fi. This is also possible. By default (factory settings), the Wi-Fi network is open (no password).

You can set up from a smartphone or tablet. By connecting to the wireless network of the router. But for convenience it is better to use a computer.

After connecting, the Internet may not work (without Internet access, limited). This is normal. You need to configure the router and Internet access will appear.

Mercusys MW325R Web Interface Login and Quick Setup

Let's continue. On the device that we connected to our MW325R, you need to launch the browser and go to the pagehttp://mwlogin.net.

The router understands that we have entered the control panel for the first time, it has not yet been configured, and therefore prompts us to set a password to protect the settings. Only you can enter the router settings (by entering this password). Therefore, come up with a good password, enter it in the appropriate fields and click on the arrow to continue the configuration. It is advisable to write down the password so as not to forget.

Next, you need to set very important parameters - the connection to the Internet (provider). You need to select the type of connection, and, if necessary, specify the parameters that the provider gives (username, password).

It is very important to set these settings correctly. Otherwise, the Internet through the router will not work, since the router will not be able to connect to the Internet. I wrote about this problem in the article: when setting up the router, it writes "Without access to the Internet", or "Limited".

I have a "Dynamic IP", in this case there is no need to configure anything further. And if you have PPPoE, L2TP, PPTP, then you must at least provide a username and password. You can check these settings with your ISP.

It remains only to configure the Wi-Fi network. Change the network name (SSID) and set a password to protect the Wi-Fi network. I recommend setting the password more complex than mine in the screenshot below 🙂

Click on the green button to complete the setting.

If we were connected via Wi-Fi, then the router will ask us to reconnect, since we have changed the wireless network parameters.

If after connecting to Mercusys MW325R the Internet works, then we can celebrate the victory, we have successfully configured the router.

And if there is no Internet access, then you need to re-enter the settings, in the "WAN settings" section, and check all the parameters. Before that, call your provider and ask what type of connection, what settings you need to specify on the router and if there is no MAC address binding.
