Hello Sergey! Reinstalled Windows 7 on laptop and WiFi adapter stopped showing up. The manufacturer was checked with the VendorDetection program. After installing the official driver for WiFi, the device was not found, in the "Update Drivers" dialog box an error message (attached screen):
"There was a problem installing the software for this device. Windows found drivers for this device, but an error occurred while trying to install those drivers. (Code 10)." By the way, the driver of the network card, taken from the same manufacturer's website, was installed normally, and there is an Internet connection. Tried and manually installed, unsuccessfully. I would be very grateful for any help. I'm pretty stuck, and I can't see a way out.

Hello. Write in the comments (attach a screenshot) how the Wi-Fi adapter is initially displayed in the device manager? Under "network adapters" with a yellow exclamation mark? Or as an unknown device? At what point does the error "There was a problem installing the software for this device ..." appear? In the process of installing a driver on Wi-Fi from the manufacturer's official website? Driver as an installation file?
If the Wi-Fi adapter is detected by the system, but there is a yellow exclamation mark next to it and the properties say "This device cannot be started. (Code 10)" (which is most likely, judging by the screenshot in the background), then try to just delete this Atheros first AR5007 802.11b / g WiFi by right-clicking on it in Device Manager. After rebooting, if it is not automatically installed, start the driver installation manually. Make sure you are downloading the correct driver.
