Why is the connection between two routers lost in wireless bridge mode?

Good evening. This is my problem. There is a video surveillance system that must be connected to the Internet for remote viewing. The system itself with a router that looks towards the Internet cannot be connected with a wire (features of the room, repairs, etc.) A router that is connected to the Internet - Promsvyaz, is a Belarusian assembly zte, if I'm not mistaken. This decision was made. I took a TP-Link TL-WR740N router as a client connected it to a zte access point. On TP-Link, the IP is static, on zte too, everything is on the same subnet. The Internet has earned on TP-Link, everything is fine. In the DVR, the status is online, the remote is working. To check, he cut off the electricity several times, everything was picked up and continued to work.

Several days pass the connection is lost. The reasons are not clear, I am in another city. Then after a while (a day or several days) it starts working again. And so it falls off periodically.

Question: how to solve the problem. Has not worked for a long time, for a week for sure. Can you tell me what kind of equipment to install so that the connection is kept firm, or change something in the settings. Thanks in advance.

Answer

Good evening. Not sure if I understood the wiring diagram correctly. Is the DVR connected to TP-Link TL-WR740N, which in turn is connected to ZTE in wireless bridge mode (WDS)?

To be honest, for video surveillance such a scheme with a wireless bridge is nothing at all about. Moreover, with TP-Link TL-WR740N. This is a budget, weak router. Maybe it's just warming up, or something else and freezes, or reboots. You need to connect the DVR to the router via cable. Be sure to lay the cable during the repair process. If you have configured a wireless bridge between two routers, then the distance there is most likely not very large.

It is not a fact, of course, that some more productive and expensive router will work stably. The wireless bridge is not very stable, especially with such equipment. Well, as I understand it, you are not sure that the reason is in the TL-WR740N. Maybe ZTE is disconnecting, losing connection with the provider. First you need to find the culprit.

You wrote that TP-Link has a static IP. How is it and why? On TP-Link, try disabling the DHCP server altogether. Configure according to the instructions: configuring the Tp-Link router in bridge mode (WDS).

I am in touch in the comments.
