Now I will tell you in detail how to configure Wi-Fi network protection on two popular routers: Tp-link TL-WR741ND, and Tp-link TL-WR740N. These are really very popular routers, so the instructions will be useful to many.
As for setting a password for a wireless network, this must be done even during the first setup of the router. If you haven't, then follow this instruction. Well, they usually change the password when they have successfully forgotten it, or when there are suspicions that several neighbors have already connected to Wi-Fi 🙂 If you have forgotten your password, you can remember it in the computer settings, or see the password in the router settings Tp-Link.
Or go to the router settings and see the key there, or install a new one. This is very easy to do.
Instructions for changing the password on Tp-link TL-WR740N
These settings can be made both from a computer and from a mobile device. The main thing is that you must be connected to a router, in my case it is Tp-link TL-WR740N. You can connect either via a Wi-Fi network or using a network cable. Like this:
After connecting, we need to go to the settings. Open your browser and go tohttp://tplinkwifi.net, or 192.168.0.1... A login and password request will appear. By default - admin and admin (these data, and the address of the control panel are indicated on the bottom of the router). If you have already changed this data, then enter your own. Well, if you forgot them, then you will have to reset all settings and configure the router again.
Next, go to the section Wireless mode (Wireless) - Wireless Security (Wireless Security). If you are setting a password for the first time, then we put a mark next to the itemWPA / WPA2 - Personal (Recommended), further in the menu Version (Version) select WPA2-PSK, and in the field Wireless password (Wireless Password) we come up with and write down the password that will be used to connect to your Wi-Fi. The password must be at least 8 English letters and numbers. You can only use numbers, only in this case the password will not be very reliable.
And if you wanted to remember or change the password, then just look at it, or enter a new one in the fieldWireless password... Click the button Save (Save).

If you have connection problems after changing the Wi-Fi key
It is possible that after changing the password for the wireless network, when you connect a computer to this network, an error "Windows cannot connect to ..." or "Network settings saved on this computer ..." will appear.
