It's bad that you didn't write what kind of D-Link modem you have. As I understand it, it is without Wi-Fi, and the TL-WR841N is connected to distribute the Internet over Wi-Fi. I don’t think you are putting such a load on the TL-WR841N to fail. Most likely it is the D-Link modem that gives up and "crashes". But I cannot give an exact answer.
