I am looking for a router. Wishes: support for 3G / 4G (SIM slot), external drives, printer (USB). The cost doesn't matter. TP-LINK type TL-MR6400 with USB only.

Answer

There are very few routers on sale that support SIM cards. For some reason, they are not popular, and not in great demand. There are many more models that support the connection of separate USB modems through which they connect to the Internet. You can consider this option as well. Since you definitely need a USB port, we just buy a router with two USB, connect a modem to one, and a printer, or an external HDD, to the second. Like mine, for example, through the Asus RT-N18U. If you consider this option in more detail, then see the article on choosing a router for 3G / 4G modems, there are some nuances.

TP-LINK TL-MR6400 is an interesting device, but there is no USB port in it. There is also the Archer MR200 model, I wrote about them here.

The ASUS 4G-AC55U will definitely suit you. True, it is not cheap, and I don’t know if it is now possible to buy it somewhere. Since the model is not popular. Need to find.

Basically, only mobile routers support SIM cards, but choosing a regular, stationary router with SIM support is very difficult. Moreover, if you also need a USB port. Those two TP-LINK routers are good options, but without USB.

I don't know why you need a router with a SIM card support, but if possible, connect to the Internet via a USB modem, and buy any router with support for 3G / 4G modems and two USB ports. It's even better, because an external antenna can be connected to the modem, if necessary.

You can also look at the article on choosing a router for your home if you haven't read it yet. There is information on the rest of the characteristics of the routers.
