An inexpensive router, probably one of the cheapest, which supports 3G and 4G (starting from the hardware version 2.0) USB modems. This means that by connecting a USB modem to the Tp-Link TL-MR3220, it will distribute the Internet to other devices via Wi-Fi and a network cable. I believe this is the main feature of this router. Of course, you can connect to it the usual Internet (Ethernet), which it will also distribute, but I would advise buying the TL-MR3220 only if you need to configure the distribution of the Internet from a 3G USB modem. If you have cable Internet, then for this bag you can find better models from the same Tp-Link company.

I bought this router more than two years ago and have experience with it. However, the experience is not very good. I bought it to work in tandem with the Novatel U720 modem from Intertelecom. At first, the man was having trouble getting it set up. The router simply did not want to see the modem, and if it did, it could not establish a connection to the Internet. After a lot of firmware (installed only official ones), and attempts to configure it, it still worked. And he worked for about two months. Then, the status "no access to the Internet" appeared and he just stopped seeing the modem. I tried to connect different modems, updated the firmware again, did a factory reset, wrote in support of Tp-Link, which I just didn’t do, but it didn’t work. He basically works, but does not see the modem. The USB port may have burned out.

I was unlucky, but this does not mean that you should refuse to buy the TL-MR3220. The router is not bad, and its price is normal. Until this time, the manufacturer has probably already released new firmware, which most likely solved many problems.

Good to know about Tp-Link TL-MR3220:

  • What questions you may be interested in: antenna 1, removable. It is possible to hang the router on the wall. 1 USB port for modem located on the side. 4 LAN, 1 WAN connector, On / Off button, and WPS button are located on the back. There is a button to turn off Wi-Fi. It is recessed into the body.
  • Address for entering settings: 192.168.0.1... Login and password - admin... This information, as well as the MAC address of the router, is indicated below, on the device itself.
  • Since TL-MR3220 supports 3G modems, it is very important to find out before purchasing this router does it support your modem (if you already have a modem). Since the router does not work with all modems. I don't understand why online stores do not provide this information (not only for this router). And the consultant in the store is unlikely to provide you with this information. And on the official website, not everyone can find a list of compatible modems. So, even before buying, you need to find out if the router works with your modem model and provider. First of all, you need to see the list of supported modems on the official website. This information is located at the link http://www.tp-link.ua/ru/comp-list.html. Select your router (TL-MR3220), and the file will start downloading immediately. We save the file with the .xlsx extension to the computer, open it, and see if our modem is on the list. If the modem is on the list, then everything should work. If not, that doesn't mean it won't work. Look for information on the Internet, you can type in the search engine the query: "router model + modem model + operator". Most likely, you will find the information you need on some forum.
  • Just before setting up, or if the router turns out to see the modem, update the firmware. This should help.
  • If you cannot configure the router to work with a modem, then write to Tp-Link support. There are many cases when support sends firmware for a specific modem and everything works.

With these modems, TL-MR3220 works exactly:

Novatel 760, Novatel 720U, ZTE Cricket AC3781 (not in the list of compatible), ZTE-5730, ZTE 3781, Pantech UM150 (if it doesn't work, support sends firmware), HUAWEI E1550 (Ukrtelecom), Sierra 595U, Pantech UM175. I checked it myself with Novatel 720U, and found others from reviews on the Internet.

Write in the comments your feedback on the Tp-Link TL-MR3220 router. You can write with which modem you managed to make friends with it and which provider. This will be very useful information for those looking for a router to work with a USB modem. Also, you can write about the problems that have arisen in the process of setting up and working. I will be grateful.
