Good afternoon. I got a Huawei E8372h USB modem on Aliexpress. On the page 192.168.8.1 I enter the login password admin-admin. Enters, identifies the SSID - HUAWEI-9ACB.
Then I do not check the box to change the password, I press further, on the next tab I tried both Download (update after reboot), and manually update the checkboxes, I press the next tab to change the password, although I did not check the box. Okay, I enter the old password and the new one twice, I press it, and the same password change tab pops up and so on ad infinitum.
When trying to log in after a while, a "new" password is entered and requires an "even newer" one. I haven't played this "game" further than the password change tab. Windows 10 on a computer, changing browsers, doing a reset. The Internet works without comment, but I cannot change the password for WIFI, although it was initially set, but there is no "sense of security". 🙂

Good afternoon. To be honest, I didn't really understand the problem. See everything, at least screenshots.
As it usually happens on Huawei modems, including Huawei E8372h: go to 192.168.8.1 and see general information on the connection. Click on the "Login" button - a window appears asking for a username and password. Enter admin / admin.
Then there is a proposal to change the password from the factory admin to your own. You can agree, or click "Later".
If we click on the "Later" button, the web interface of the Huawei modem opens.
Maybe on your Huawei E8372h this all happens somehow differently (which is unlikely). At what stage do you have a problem and this window with a changeable password appears? It is not clear what you tried to download and update manually.

So maybe the password has been changed and you just need to close this window.
