Sergey, good afternoon!

Please tell me how to optimally organize the Internet at home with the existing wiring.

I am attaching the drawing.

I would like wired internet to work in the hall and bedroom, under the TV. Now I put the router at the entrance, in the far rooms the wi-fi phone does not catch, although he takes the TV in the bedroom, but again with varying success. I considered the option using TP-LINK TL-PA4020P KIT, is it worth it or not? Can I use a cable from the site to the router in one direction and in the other two pairs at the site?

Can I put access points? Many thanks.

Answer

Good afternoon. See everything in place, clarify some points. So, of course, it is difficult to give a specific answer.

If a network cable is laid in all rooms and there are sockets, then most likely there is no point in using TP-LINK TL-PA4020P and similar systems.

Of course, a Wi-Fi Mesh system would do well in this case. For example: Tenda Nova MW6, TP-Link Deco M5. The main plus is that there would be seamless Wi-Fi throughout the apartment. One network without interruptions in switching between modules. I think 2 modules would be enough for you. But I understand that you have no desire to change equipment.

It is not clear what kind of Internet you have now, what kind of router / modem (I see in the photo that ASUS, but I don't understand which model). And why (and most importantly what) the cable is laid from the shield on the site to all rooms. What cable is the Internet connected to (it is on the diagram)? Are there ordinary network sockets for RJ-45? It may be possible to put a router in the hall (connect it to an outlet). From it it will be possible to connect the Internet to TV via cable. It will be closer to the center of the apartment and the signal should be normal in all rooms.

Alternatively, there are also Wi-Fi repeaters.

Can you clarify the points that I wrote about above in the comments, and we will think further about the optimal solution for organizing a Wi-Fi network in your home.
