Router TP-Link TL-WR740N. Was set up and worked well. Then I just took a new one and didn't use it. I brought it to my other place of residence where I was given the Internet and then such. I only see the old name of my network and the setting of the router. I didn't try to reset it - it doesn't work. I connected it to my laptop for the utility to configure it from the disk. She seems to see the router, but in the process the following message appears (screenshot), but the network is still not visible.

The phone and the laptop itself find the router. See wi-fi. But the Internet itself does not work from wi-fi.

Let's try to figure it out. When reconfiguring the router for another provider, it is recommended to reset the settings to the factory settings (Reset). Why you can't factory reset your TP-Link TL-WR740N is not clear. You haven't written anything specifically. How do you reset, how everything goes, etc. Therefore, I advise you to reset according to this instruction. If you do everything correctly, but the settings are not reset, then this may be a hardware failure of the router.

The utility does not see the router (judging by the screenshot). It is very important here to check if there is a connection between the laptop and the router. What is the connection status. There are a lot of nuances. This utility is basically unnecessary. It's easier to try to enter the settings of the TL-WR740N router through a browser from the same laptop, or another device that is connected to the router via cable, or via Wi-Fi. You can enter the settings by the IP address 192.168.1.1, or 192.168.0.1 (depending on the hardware version of the router). Or at tplinkwifi.net. The address is indicated on a sticker on the bottom of the router. Here are the instructions:

  • How to enter TP-Link router settings?
  • tplinkwifi.net - enter the router settings

If the TL-WR740N settings do not open, look at this instruction: it does not enter the router settings for 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1.

The Internet on devices (which are connected to the router) does not work, most likely for the reason that the router needs to be configured to work with a new Internet provider. In addition, the router is most likely configured for the old provider. To configure everything, you need to access the settings (web interface). I wrote about this above.

Here's how to set up TP-Link TL-WR740N.
