Until recently, I have not come across routers and other network devices from Totolink. But I decided to buy one model, see what kind of devices it is, and, of course, write several instructions for setting them up. I got the cheapest model Totolink N150RT. I want to say right away that I really liked the router. For the price it costs, we get an easy-to-configure router that looks good and, judging by the reviews, works very well and stably. But today is not about that.
In any case, after purchasing a Totolink router, we will need to configure it. And for this you need to go to the router settings. In this article, I will explain in detail how to enter Totolink settings. I will show on the example of the N150R model. But, I think that the article is suitable for all devices from this manufacturer, since everything is almost the same there.
To access the control panel of Totolink routers, the IP address 192.168.1.1 is used. All you need to do is connect to the router via cable, or via Wi-Fi, go to 192.168.1.1 in the browser, and specify the factory username and password: admin and admin. The address for entering the settings, the factory name and password are indicated on the router itself. Usually, this information is indicated on the bottom of the device, on a sticker. But on Totolink N150RT, you will find it in the sidebar.
Let's take a closer look at everything.
We connect to the Totolink router to access the settings
You can enter the settings from almost any device. But, if possible, then I advise you to do it from a computer or laptop. And, if possible, connect to the router via the network cable that comes with the kit.
If it is not possible to connect via cable, then we connect via Wi-Fi. Immediately after turning on the router, you will see a new network in the list of available networks on your device, which will have a factory name. See the screenshot below.
Wi-Fi network will be without a password. Therefore, you can connect to it without any problems. You can enter the control panel of the Totolink router from almost any device: PC, laptop, tablet, smartphone.
Please note that immediately after connecting to the router, Internet access may not be available. This is because you have most likely not connected the Internet to the router, or have not configured it. After all, we are only trying to enter the settings. Internet access is not required to enter the router settings. The main thing is that your device is connected to the router.
Entering Totolink settings by 192.168.1.1
After we have connected to the router, open any browser and go to the address 192.168.1.1... Just be careful, enter the address in the address bar, and not in the search bar.
The router will ask for a username and password. As we found out above, the default is admin and admin. If you have already changed them, then enter your own. And if you changed and do not remember, then do a factory reset.
If the authorization page does not open, but an error appears, then see the solutions at the end of this article.
After authorization, a page with quick settings for the Totolink router will open. Let's also show you how to change the language to Russian or Ukrainian. Since my default was English.
Click on the "Advanced Setup" button.
In the drop-down menu, select the desired control panel language.
That's it, now you can easily make the necessary settings for your router.
If it does not go into the Totolink settings
There are often problems when the page with router settings at 192.168.1.1 simply does not open. There is no access to the settings.
If you encounter this, then first of all check the connection of your device to the router. It is important to make sure that you are connected to the router via Wi-Fi, or a network cable. Look at the connection status in the notification bar. There may be "no internet access" (limited) - this is normal. But the connection must be there.
If you are trying to access 192.168.1.1 from a computer, then check whether it is worth automatically obtaining IP and DNS in the properties of your connection.
Just look carefully, open the properties of the connection through which you are connected to the router. If via Wi-Fi, then "Wireless network connection" (in Windows 10 - Wireless network). And if by cable, then "Local Area Connection" (in Windows 10 - Ethernet).
