I decided to demonstrate the process of configuring the Netis WF2411E router. I think this instruction will be useful not only for the initial configuration of the router, but also for solving any possible problems at the time of setting up and using this device. Despite the fact that the control panel on Netis routers is very simple and straightforward, and the kit includes detailed instructions for setting up, such articles collect a lot of views, comments and help many in solving a variety of problems.

If you are just choosing a router for yourself and are considering this model, then you will most likely be interested in reading the review on Netis WF2411E.

I have configured Netis WF2411E several times already. This entire process takes a few minutes. The main thing is to connect all the cables and correctly set the parameters that are necessary for connecting to the Internet. And of course, I recommend changing the name of the Wi-Fi network and setting a strong password to protect the same network. Now we will consider all this with a real example.

You can use almost any device to configure your router. But it is better, of course, to configure it from a computer or laptop. If not, then a phone or tablet will do.

The first step is to connect everything. We take our Netis WF2411E out of the box, connect the power cable to it and plug the adapter into an outlet. The network cable from the ISP needs to be connected to the WAN port. It's blue and signed.

Next, we connect the device from which we will perform the configuration. If it is a PC or laptop (and it has a LAN port), then it is best to connect them with a network cable.

Pay attention to the photo below, everything is shown there. Do not confuse WAN and LAN port.

If you cannot connect to the WF2411E with a cable, then establish a Wi-Fi connection. The factory wireless network name (SSID) and password are listed on the bottom of the router. The default password is password... We just select the Wi-Fi network of this router on our device and connect to it.

Login to the web interface and quick setup Netis WF2411E

You can access the router settings through a browser. Therefore, open any browser (preferably a standard one) and go to the address http://netis.cc, orhttp://192.168.1.1

In the event that the router has already been configured before, it is advisable to reset the settings. To do this, hold down the button for 8-10 seconds. "Default".

All indicators will turn on and off. The settings will be restored to factory defaults.

A page should appear with the most necessary settings: connecting to the Internet and setting up a wireless connection. Let's go in order:

  1. The address at which we go to the settings.
  2. The type of internet connection your ISP uses. If you don't know, check with your provider. Without this information, you will not be able to configure the router. If you have "Dynamic IP", then you do not need to set additional parameters. Maybe clone the MAC address (if required by the provider). And if PPPoE, or PPTP (located in the advanced settings), then you need to specify the username and password (they are issued by your provider). "Static IP" is practically not used now (static addresses are simply registered there).
  3. Change the name of the Wi-Fi network.
  4. We set a password for the Wi-Fi network, which will be distributed by our Netis WF2411E. Just don't forget your password. Better yet, write it down somewhere.
  5. We save the settings.

See screenshot.

The router will inform you that the save is complete and will reboot. After that, a Wi-Fi network will appear with a new name (which we set in the settings). To connect to it, use the set password.

If the Internet connection on the devices connected to the router works, then you did everything right. The setup is complete. Unless I advise you to go to the control panel again to set a password to protect this very control panel of your router. I'll show you how to do this at the end of the article.

And if the router has not connected to the Internet (provider) and the connection on all devices is "without Internet access", then you need to check the WAN settings. But before that, I recommend that you check all the parameters with the support of your Internet provider.

Now I will show you how to open the advanced settings of the WF2411E router, and change the most necessary parameters. I repeat, if your Internet is working through a router, then you only need to set a password that will protect the settings of the router. It is better not to change other parameters unnecessarily.

Additional router settings

To open advanced settings, you need to click on the "Advanced" button on the main page.

Let's go through the main sections.

Internet connection settings are in the section "Net""WAN"... There you can select the type of connection and set the required parameters that the router needs to connect to the Internet. Let me remind you that these parameters are given by the Internet provider.

If your provider provides a digital television service, then you can configure it in the section"Net""IPTV"... There you can choose one of the 4x LAN ports and assign it to IPTV. Or multiple ports. Well, then connect the prefix to it.

You can change the Wi-Fi network password or name (SSID) in the section "Outbred Mode""WiFi Settings"... You can also change the wireless channel number and channel width there. This is in case there are problems with the connection of certain devices, or the speed of the wireless connection is too slow. In the same section, you can change the operating mode of the radio (by default there is "Access Point"), and use Netis WF2411E as a repeater, for example, or a Wi-Fi receiver.

Well, the mandatory setting in my opinion is setting a password to protect the settings of the router. Go to section "System""Password".

In the "New username" field, write a name in English letters. You can ask "admin". And in the "New password" field, create and enter a password (it has nothing to do with the Wi-Fi network password). It is also desirable to write down this password somewhere. Confirm the password in the second field and save the settings.

You will immediately be prompted for this data. And it will appear every time you, or someone else, wants to access the settings of the Netis WF2411E router.

But we know the password, and someone else does not.

If something doesn't work out for you, ask in the comments. If everything worked out, write everything exactly. Did the instruction help you, maybe I missed something. I will gladly supplement the article.
