Hello. So here's the thing, only the power indicator and the settings indicator are on on the TL-WR740N router. There is no Internet, I used to solve this problem by turning off the power of the entire computer, router and modem, it stood there for a while, then turned it on and everything worked. Then I got tired of it, I decided to fix it, I read it on the Internet, I decided to reset the settings, I went to the website of the 192.168.0.1 router, reset the settings and these two lights on the router turned on again and the Internet was gone. Turning off the power does not help anymore, tell me what to do?

Answer

Hello. There are many nuances that you have not described. But most likely, the router "died" and you will have to buy a new one.

Things to try:

  • Reset the settings with the Reset button:
Turn on the router, press the button and hold for 10 seconds. All indicators should light up and go out. The router will reboot.
  • Try to go to TP-Link TL-WR740N settings at 192.168.0.1. If you can log in, you will need to re-configure the router. The instruction may come in handy: how to set up TP-Link TL-WR740N? Setting up Wi-Fi and the Internet.

When connecting cables to WAN, or LAN port, the indicators do not light up?

If the "System" indicator (in the form of a gear) is constantly on and does not blink, then this is a system error in the router.

Unfortunately, as I wrote above, it is unlikely that you will be able to fix the router yourself. Perhaps in the workshop. But believe me, it doesn't make sense. The model is inexpensive.
