If you have a Tenda N301 router and you want to flash it, then you have come to the address. I'll show you the firmware update process using my Tenda N301 router as an example. I bought this model recently. I plan to test this router, write some instructions. On the surface, this is a good, inexpensive home router. In the settings, I did not find the automatic software update function, therefore, the firmware will have to be downloaded manually and uploaded to the router.
At the time of this writing, I found only three firmwares for the N301 model on the official website. One of them is English. In any case, you need to update the software. I think new, modified versions will appear in the near future.
Let's immediately download the firmware itself, and take a closer look at the update process.
You need to download the software only from the official website. I give a link to the download page for the Tenda N301 model: http://www.tenda.ru/dlya-doma/wi-fi-routery/wifi300m/N301/#version. If you have a different model, please download the software for your model. We just look for our router on the site and go to the "Download" tab.
When you follow the link, you will see a list of firmware versions of different versions. Download the newest one with the name "(For Russia), or RU". Just click on the link and save the archive to your computer.
Extract the firmware from their archive.
Everything, preparation is complete, you can start.
Tenda N301 router firmware process
The control panel says that you can update the firmware only through a computer, and when connected to a router via a network cable. Therefore, I advise you to do so. If you are also connected to the router via Wi-Fi, then disconnect, or completely disable Wi-Fi.
We go into the settings of the router at 192.168.0.1. The router will ask for a password. Factory: admin. If you changed it, then enter yours.
Let's go to the main settings.
Next, open the "System Tools" - "Firmware Update" tab. Click on the "Select file" button, select the firmware file and click on "Firmware update".
Do not turn off the power of Tenda N301, do not turn off the computer, do not close anything during the software update process. We are just waiting for the update process to finish.

The update process will start first, and then the router will reboot.
