Good day! The question arose about changing the router. I choose between Archer C9 and ASUS RT-AC68U. It is difficult to decide for yourself, and there is really no information on the network. My first router was asus - some problems, after it there is no trust in Asus ROUTERS. I changed it to TP-Link and have been using it for almost 4 years. But recently, the network began to disappear (rarely), after a reboot everything is fine. I heard that Asus needs to be constantly updated. There are no complaints about the Asus technique itself, on the contrary, I consider it the best. Help with the choice, all the same routers are not cheap, I would not want to be mistaken. Interested only in 2-band and with a gigabit port. Thank you in advance.

Answer

Hello. In any case, the choice is up to you. You buy a router for your own money, and you use it. I try never to recommend specific models. Moreover, you have access to the same information about TP-Link Archer C9 and ASUS RT-AC68U as mine.

I'm not familiar with TP-Link Archer C9, as well as with ASUS RT-AC68U. I only reviewed the TP-LINK Archer C8 and wrote the setup instructions (including for the C9).

I am confident that both of these routers will work without problems. As for the fact that ASUS needs to be updated all the time - some kind of stupidity. Well, yes, new firmwares are coming out, and it is advisable to install them. Not every day or week. You don't need to update at all if everything works well.

You can also see TP-LINK Archer C7, as an option for a home router. ASUS RT-AC68U will certainly be more expensive. But the router isn't bad either. There are many reviews.

Here's another article: which Wi-Fi router is better to buy for a house or apartment? Choosing a router. Take a look if you haven't watched it yet.

Take the one that you like best and for the price. Pay attention to the control panel so that it is convenient for you to configure everything.
