The tplinkmodem.net address is used to enter the settings of TP-Link routers that come with built-in ADSL modems, or with support for SIM cards. For some reason, TP-Link decided to make a separate address for entering the router system for these devices. Since the tplinkwifi.net, or tplinklogin.net address is used to enter the web interface of conventional routers (see the link for an article with detailed instructions). Well, or ordinary IP addresses: 192.168.0.1, or 192.168.1.1 (in older models).

TP-Link has a line of routers that support ADSL (telephone line) connectivity. Or just ADSL modems with Wi-Fi - whatever, there is not much difference. These are the following models: TD-W8960N, TD-W8961N, TD-W8968, TD-W8901N, TD-W9970B, Archer VR400, TD-W9970, TD-W8951ND. And there are relatively new models of routers with support for SIM cards (3G / 4G). These are Archer MR400, Archer MR200 and TL-MR6400. You can go to the settings of all these devices attplinkmodem.net... Perhaps I have not listed all the models, but this is not important. The address for entering the settings of the router / modem is always indicated on the bottom of the device on a sticker.

All we need to do is connect our device (computer, laptop, phone, tablet) to a modem (aka a router) via cable, or via Wi-Fi and go to http://tplinkmodem.net in a browser. But very often users face a problem when the setting page at this address does not open and nothing works. Can't access TP-Link modem settings. I have already told in other articles what to do in such situations. At the end of this article I will also give the necessary information and links to other articles with solutions.

How to enter the settings of the router / modem via tplinkmodem.net?

The device from which you will enter the router settings must be connected to it. If your router is already configured and you want to log into the system to change some settings (password, Wi-Fi network name, etc.), then simply connect to your Wi-Fi network, or connect your computer (laptop) to modem using a network cable.

If the modem is new and you will be connecting via Wi-Fi, then the factory name of the network (aka SSID) and password (Wireless Password / PIN) can be found on the sticker on the bottom of the modem.

Launch a browser on a computer or mobile device. It is advisable to use the standard one, where there are no VPN and other add-ons. In the address bar (not in the search one!) We type, or copy the addresshttp://tplinkmodem.net and go to it (you need to press Enter). We go as to a regular site.

You can also open the settings by IP address. On new models, the already familiar address 192.168.0.1 is most likely used. And on older models - 192.168.1.1. Detailed instructions can be found at these links.

The page of our TP-Link router (aka modem) should open. Depending on the model and whether the modem is already configured or not, the appearance and content of this page may differ. On older models, a login and password request appears. Factory login - admin... Password too admin... After opening the tplinkmodem.net page, you need to enter admin / admin. Then the router settings will open. If you or someone else has not changed your password. In this case, a message appears that the password is incorrect. And most likely you will have to do a factory reset.

On new models (I checked on TL-MR6400), the factory log and password are not set. You do not need to enter admin (if the router is at factory settings), a window immediately appears asking you to set the password for the router (which will then need to be entered to log into the router).

After entering the login and password, or after setting the password (depending on the model, and if you go into the settings for the first time), the router control panel will open. Where you can make the necessary settings. Or change the parameters you want.

The router system itself (the settings page) may differ depending on the router model and firmware version.

If tplinkmodem.net does not work and does not open

It also happens that typing the tplinkmodem.net address in the browser, an error appears that the page is unavailable, the site cannot be opened, or the TP-Link site is loaded.

First of all, I always check the connection to the router. If you are logging into the router from a computer or laptop, then make sure that you only have an active connection to the router whose settings you are trying to enter. In the case of a cable connection, you need to turn off Wi-Fi (if any). If you are using a mobile device, then you need to turn off the cellular Internet and leave only the Wi-Fi connection. If everything is in order there, then try the following recommendations:

  • Restart your modem and computer.
  • Try to enter the settings from another device by connecting it to our TP-Link modem.
  • Try using 192.168.1.1, or 192.168.0.1 instead of tplinkmodem.net address.
  • If you are performing these actions on a computer, check if the automatic acquisition of IP addresses is set in the connection properties. For more information, see Obtain an IP Address Automatically in Windows. Better yet, reset your network settings. I already wrote these instructions, use the site search.
  • I have collected a lot of tips for solving this problem in the article does not go into the router settings for 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. They will work even if tplinkmodem.net does not open.
  • You can perform a full reset of your router. To do this, press and hold (about 10 seconds) the Reset button.

A little more information on this topic is in the article on how to enter the settings of the TP-Link router. I hope my instructions came in handy and you were able to open the settings of your modem. If not, leave a question in the comments.
