After updating the D-Link Dir-615 firmware, Wi-Fi disappeared (the indicator is off) and does not enter the router settings

Everything was fine, everything worked. I went to the router's menu, there was a window that I needed to update the firmware, which I did. After that, too, everything was fine, everything worked except for the TV (via a set-top box). I tried to go to the IPTV menu, but it did not work, it constantly gave an error, I decided to go to the office. the D-Link website, to see if the firmware is fresh, I typed Dir-615 into the search there and I got a list of 2 pages, went into each one and found the picture identical to my own, exactly the same, downloaded and updated, after this update the light on the router does not light up indicating that there is a Wi-Fi signal, of course, in fact, it is not there either, and I also cannot enter the router menu via 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1.

My router just says Dir-615, on the website this router looks completely different from mine, if you believe the office. site then I have DIR-615 / A / M1 (according to the picture one to one). I downloaded it from him and updated it and everything got up. Through the cord directly from the router to the laptop, there is Internet. Reboots, and reboots via Reset did not help, please tell me how to fix the situation? Is it possible to bring him to his senses or everything, can I throw out a new router that worked for 10 minutes?

Routers can be the same (in the same case), but work on different hardware. Moreover, when it comes to D-Link Dir-615. There are already so many of these hardware versions ... Accordingly, the firmware for them is different.

You have uploaded the wrong firmware to your router. From another model (hardware version). And from this your Dir-615 turned into a brick.

On the back of the router, on the sticker, the model should also be written. For your D-Link Dir-615 VER .: M1 F router, on the official FTP server of D-Link, the firmware is most likely located at this address: http://ftp.dlink.ru/pub/Router/DIR-615/ Firmware / RevM / (old firmware versions in the "old" folder). I did not find any other options.

Firmware recovery for D-Link Dir-615 router

Brief instructions for disaster recovery of the D-Link Dir-615 VER .: M1 router:

1. Download the firmware from the link above. I think you can download the last one. If the latter does not want to be loaded into the router, then try the very first one (from the old folder).
2. Turn off the router and disconnect all cables from it. Disconnect the Internet from the computer (disconnect the network cable, turn off Wi-Fi, if any).
3. On the computer, in the properties of the network connection, for the IPv4 protocol, set the following parameters: IP address: 192.168.0.10 / Mask: 255.255.255.0 / Gateway: 192.168.0.1

4. We connect the computer to the router with a network cable (it is still turned off). On the router, we connect the cable to one of the LAN ports (not WAN!).
5. Holding the Reset button, turn on the power of the router. We hold the Reset button for about 10 seconds (8 blinks of the power indicator). Then the Reset button can be released.
6. Open the browser and go to the address http://192.168.0.1
7. If everything is Ok, then the Failsafe UI page should open.
   You need to select the firmware file downloaded from the FTP server and click on the "Submit" button.
8. A message should appear that the firmware has been completed successfully.
9. Then we turn off the power from the router for 30 seconds and turn it back on.
10. If the recovery was successful, you can access the router settings at http://192.168.0.1. Factory login admin and password admin.
11. Do not forget to return the automatic IP settings in the properties of the network connection.

Attention! If after completing step 5, the Failsafe UI page at http://192.168.0.1 does not open, then try opening it in another browser. If that doesn't work, then try to do it all over again, only instead of the actions described in paragraph 5, do this:

1. Turn on the router and after 10 seconds hold down the Reset button. Wait 30 seconds.
2. Without releasing the Reset button, you need to turn off the power of the router and wait another 30 seconds.
3. Without releasing the Reset button, turn on the router and wait another 30 seconds.

Then everything is according to the instructions above (point 6, etc.).

If this method fails to restore the D-Link Dir-615 firmware, then you can google other solutions (but they are unlikely to exist). Or take the router for repair / replace it with a new one. Unfortunately, there are no other options.
