ASUS DSL-N55U does not connect to the provider's router via LAN

There is a Chinese wifi router from the provider, I took an ASUS DSL-N55U router to distribute wireless Internet in the 5 GHz range. I connected both routers via a network cable, LAN1-LAN1. ASUS DSL-N55U router does not have Internet access. About half a year ago, through the same scheme, TP-Link connected automatically. Asus's admin panel works, devices are connected via wi-fi, there is no Internet.

  1. I tried different network cables - no result.
  2. I tried different LAN ports - no result. By the way, the LEDs above the LAN ports don't even blink. Although from the first connection of the cable (to hot) two seconds blinked.
  3. Translated the provider's router through admins into bridge mode - it did not help.
  4. Resetting the settings.

Answer

The problem is clear. The circuit is simple and everything should work. You want to use ASUS DSL-N55U as an access point. If there is no such operating mode in the settings of this router, then you just need to disable the DHCP server in the DSL-N55U settings. Save the settings, reboot the router and connect between the routers using the same LAN-LAN scheme. I wrote about this in the instructions: How to make a router a Wi-Fi access point?

If it doesn't work, you can try using ASUS DSL-N55U as a router. Connect the cable from the provider's router to ASUS to the WAN port. In the settings, set the connection type to dynamic IP (it is on the factory default settings).

Well, and a very important point: does the Internet work via cable from the main router that the provider installed for you? If, for example, connect it to a computer. Does the main router have a DHCP server (automatically assigns IP addresses)?
