We recently got acquainted with the excellent ZyXEL Keenetic Start router, you can read about the detailed configuration of which in this article. We continue to study the functionality and various features of ZyXEL routers. And in this article we will see how many devices are connected to your Wi-Fi network, and what kind of devices they are. If you have a ZyXEL router at home or in your office, and you wondered if other people's devices are connected to your wireless network, today I will tell you how to see who is connected to your Wi-Fi in the router settings.

In the admin panel of the ZyXEL router, you can see a list of not only connected devices, but also a lot of useful information about these devices: device name, MAC address, assigned IP address, amount of used traffic, etc. And, if necessary, you can block the desired device ... But, I will prepare a separate article on creating black and white lists of devices on these routers. Now we will consider everything in detail.

This method is suitable for almost all ZyXEL Keenetic routers. I will show with the example of the junior Start model.

We look at the list of Wi-Fi clients on ZyXEL Keenetic

We definitely need to go to the settings of our router. To do this, go to192.168.1.1, enter the data (login / password) to enter the router settings. Better yet, check out the detailed article on how to enter the settings of this company's routers.

After you get into the settings, go to the top to the tab Wi-Fi Clients... There you will see all the devices that are currently connected to your Wi-Fi.

If the list does not appear, then wait a bit, or refresh the page.

As you can see in the screenshot above, the list displays information like this:

  • Name. If it is a computer, its name is displayed (I have "help-wifi-com", this is a laptop). The Windows Phone is simply signed as "Windows Phone". And the iPad appears with a name.
  • The MAC address of the device.
  • The IP address assigned to it.
  • How much traffic was sent and received.
  • The channel width at which the device operates. If auto mode is enabled in your Wi-Fi settings, then it may be different.
  • Mbps speed.
  • How long has elapsed since connection.
  • Signal. Network signal strength on the device. By this indicator, you can understand how far a certain device is from the router.

Also, the list of devices can be viewed on the tab home networkwhich you can go directly from the home page. It also displays the devices connected via cable.

And if you click on the device you need, then detailed statistics on the connections of this device will open.

It's so easy to get the information you need on the connected devices. If you see some other people's device, then you can block it, or just change the password for the Wi-Fi network. And if the name and surname of your neighbor is written in the device, then you can figure it out differently :) In any case, this is useful information that may come in handy.
