Hello!

The question is: I have three routers, can I connect them to one Wi-Fi network and place them in different rooms so that there is a buzz signal everywhere?
And how to actually do it?)

Available routers:

  • Asus RT-N13U SuperSpeed N Wireless Router
  • D-Link dir-620
  • Asus RT-N12 Wireless N Router.

Answer:

Hello. Theoretically, you can, but you have to try. You probably have a large area of the house, maybe one router will be enough for you. Well, it's not clear, you need one Wi-Fi network (with one name and password), simply strengthened by other routers, or you need each router to distribute its own wireless network (with different names and passwords). Also, you did not write which of the routers you have set as the main one.

Well, okay, I suggest this: we set D-Link dir-620 as the main one to which the Internet will be connected. It would be good to put it as much as possible in the center of your building (house, apartment). And Asus RT-N13U, and Asus RT-N12 can be used to amplify Wi-Fi signal. Why ASUS? Because they have a special repeater mode that is designed to strengthen the Wi-Fi network. About setting up which I wrote in the article setting up an Asus router as a repeater.

But there is one more thing here. Perhaps you have Asus RT-N12 and Asus RT-N13U in an old modification (in a white case). There, this mode is configured a little differently. I know for sure that the Asus RT-N13U has a mode switch, and there is a "repeater". I just had such a router. But I can't tell you about Asus RT-N12. If there is no switch on the case, then this mode can be enabled and configured in the router settings (via the browser). And if your Asus RT-N12 is in a black case, as in the article, then see the instructions for setting up the repeater mode (I gave the link above).

There is also such an article: setting up two routers on the same network. It might come in handy.

Try it, write about the results.
