Well, the sockets have already become smart :) Today I will tell you about smart sockets from TP-Link. TP-Link has begun actively developing various smart home devices. First, cloud cameras, which I already wrote about setting up here, then smart sockets, and have already seen information about light bulbs, which can probably also be controlled from the phone. In any case, all this is very interesting and useful.

Let's first figure out what a smart socket is, what it is for, and how it works.

Everything is very simple, this is an ordinary adapter that plugs into a regular outlet. This one looks like this:

The smart plug connects to your Wi-Fi network. And to it you connect the device you want to control.

Install the Kasa application on your mobile device, through which we will control smart sockets. Then you just need to configure the outlet, add it to the application. How to do this, I wrote in the instructions for setting up TP-Link HS100, and TP-Link HS110.

Once set up, you can control the outlet from your mobile phone. Turn the power on and off, set the on or off timer, set the operating mode. And if you have a TP-Link HS110 model, then you can still watch the power consumption.

An important point! You can control the power of the device connected through this outlet not only when connected to your home Wi-Fi network. You can be anywhere, and even in another country. The main thing is that you have the Internet on your mobile device. Everything works through the cloud.

For about two weeks now I have been using TP-Link HS100 and TP-Link HS110 sockets. Cool devices that can be used for practical purposes. Although, I never managed to do it. There are actually many opportunities. You can turn on the heating system, for example, an hour before you come home. Switch on the iron through this outlet, and do not be afraid to leave it on. Since you can check it at any time.

In the application, you can configure the time to turn on or off the power. There is also a "no home" mode. When the outlet automatically turns on and off the devices. For example, a lamp. As if you are at home.

Review TP-Link HS110 and TP-Link HS100

The devices are as simple and straightforward as possible. Therefore, the overview will be short. Well, as usual :)

Of the controls, there are only two buttons. The first button, which is small (with a gear icon), is needed to configure the smart plug and reset the settings. And the second button, which still contains the LED indicator, is used to manually turn on and off the outlet.

The body of the device is made of white matte and glossy plastic. The build is very good. Anyone who has devices from TP-Link will understand me.

The devices are undoubtedly interesting and have a future. I think that in the near future these sockets will be able to interact with other smart home devices.

If you have a device that needs to be controlled remotely, then such an outlet is a great solution. And if you buy an older model TP-Link HS110, you can also control the power consumption. Maybe this is a useless exercise, but interesting :)

What do you think of such devices? If you already have these sockets, then leave your feedback in the comments!
