ASUS n751jk laptop "hangs up" TP-Link router

Good afternoon. I have an asus n751jk laptop, TP-Link TL-MR3420 router. Operating system Windows 10. The connection diagram is as follows: cables from 4 LAN ports go through different rooms to Internet sockets, flush-mounted; 1 of them is still free (not involved, 2 of them are connected to Smart TV, to the 4th through the switch (formerly D-Link, now Upvel) a laptop and Smart TV with Android operating system are connected.

Everything worked fine at first. But somewhere from the end of April to the beginning of May 2016, problems began - a yellow triangle appeared on the Internet connection icon on the laptop and, accordingly, the Internet disappeared. On other devices, the Internet also disappeared (I did not check Wi-Fi at first). Either connecting the laptop without a switch directly to the LAN outlet, or disconnecting the switch from the network and then turning it back on, helped.

He began to "sin" on the switch, changed 2 pieces. - problem still exists. Over time, the problem began to manifest itself more often and more seriously - now it could only be solved by restarting the router, and only by turning off and on the power, and sometimes the laptop had to be rebooted. Moreover, there was no regularity: either the connection can work for a long time, then it turns off every 5-10 minutes.

I called a specialist, all LAN sockets and cables rang, everything is fine. I took another router - the situation is the same. Brought home a working laptop, plugged it in - everything works like a clock. It became clear that the problem is in my laptop. I took it to work for my IT specialist. He says that he checked the LAN port, the network card - they are working, updated the drivers, checked for viruses - everything is fine. He says that he connected it to his more powerful router at work and somehow tested it there (I'm not an expert, I don't really understand). But according to him, the situation looks like this: for some reason, my laptop starts to "clog" the network on the external WAN port, since his router is more powerful at work, it does not freeze, it just has a processor load of 100%, and at my home it is weak (household), so it freezes (on my router, all indicators really stop blinking, which, according to the instructions, means that the router is not working). What is the reason for this situation - he will not figure it out.

Maybe you can help with something.

Thanks in advance.

Answer

Andrey, good afternoon! Thank you for describing your question in detail. Yes, such a problem happens, I've heard it more than once. Because of what the laptop completely "hangs" the router, I do not know. Moreover, the person who watched and tested this whole thing could not say the reason.

If I were you, I would just completely reinstall the system. Would put Windows 7 to check. It is possible that this is some kind of virus. After all, if the antivirus did not find anything, then it is not a fact that there is nothing there.

And so, a new system, new drivers, I think the problem will be solved.
