Hello. Actually the question is as follows. There is an ASUS DSL-N10E router, designed, as the name implies, for a DSL connection to the Internet. I have an Ethernet connection (that is, a standard RJ-45 plug). Is there a way to adapt this router to my connection? Maybe you can use one of the LAN sockets as a WAN? Or connect the router to a computer and use it as an access point without additional equipment? Thanks in advance.

Answer

Hello. I understood your question. If I had an ASUS DSL-N10E, I would be able to answer you exactly. I looked at screenshots of the control panel on the Internet, and did not see such an opportunity there. Most likely on ASUS DSL-N10E you cannot use the LAN port as a WAN, and you cannot connect the Internet via a network cable (Ethernet).

Do you have such a tab in the settings?

If not, then it is unlikely that it will be possible to connect the Internet to one of the LAN ports.

You can search for information on the firmware of your modem with OpenWRT, or DD-WRT firmware. There, as far as I know, there is an opportunity to turn LAN into WAN.
