I ask for intellectual help to the teapot.

Keenetic 4G III rev.B, used without USB modem, Onlime provider.

The essence of the problem: For some time now, from time to time (up to several times a day) loses access to the Internet. With a direct connection of the computer with a cord, the Internet is available.

Technical support fixes communication failures, if the operator is tortured for a long time - they say something like "the router does not ask for an IP address", and then it is standard - call the wizard, see the settings, etc. Moreover, in about 50% of cases, the Internet appears on the router or in during the conversation, or immediately after.

About the router: the good old of this type began to play the fool some time ago; I decided that maybe I needed to update the firmware, I updated it, after which he almost completely stopped going online. I bought a new one, connected it - he requested a standard auto-tuning (carried out according to the recommendation on the provider's website), after which he could not establish a connection to the Internet. Our sysadmin looked at the settings remotely and threw up his hands, said the problem is most likely with the provider. And after a while the router came to life by itself. It can work for several days without failures, or it can fail several times a day. When you restart on power, the Internet loses, the recovery is unpredictable in time.

A technician came from a provider to check the line. I also looked at the settings of the router, I saw nothing criminal.

I installed the latest firmware version (2.09), does not cure.

No idea what could be the reason?

Answer

A strange and controversial problem. Interestingly, with a direct cable connection to a PC, the Internet works well. The problem does not seem to be on the side of the provider.

When talking with support, the Internet appears for the reason that support drops the connection and it is re-established.

Did I understand correctly, you bought a new router and it didn't work? Does the provider not bind by MAC address? If the problem is with two routers, the whole thing was watched by a specialist from the provider and the problem has become, then most likely the problem is on the side of the provider.

It would be nice if your ZyXEL Keenetic 4G III rev. B test with another provider. Will there be interruptions in the connection to the Internet.
