D-Link DIR-615 does not turn on. The power indicator is on and all LANs are flashing. How do I restore the firmware?

It began with the fact that I wanted to change the password to wifi, having successfully changed the password, saw the notification of an available update, did it all from the phone, after the update was completed (the update timer disappeared on the screen), the router apparently restarted, now only power is on and everything is flashing alternately LAN 1 , 2, 3, 4.

Resetting the settings via reset gives the result (power internet lan1 is on) but it is not possible to connect via 192.168.0.1.

A subsequent reboot of the device leads to the very beginning of the question.

Answer

It looks like some kind of glitch during flashing. Something went wrong and the D-Link DIR-615 won't turn on. If only the power indicator is on and all LAN indicators are blinking, then there is definitely something with the program. You can try to restore it through the Failsafe UI. We do not have detailed instructions, but now I will try to explain how to do this.

1. We are looking at the revision of our D-Link DIR-615 (on the bottom of the sticker), follow the link ftp://ftp.dlink.ru/pub/Router/DIR-615/Firmware/ and download the firmware (file with the .bin extension).
2. We connect the computer to the router via a network cable. Turn off Wi-Fi on the computer (if any).
3. Next, on the computer, you need to set static IP settings for the network adapter. To do this, press the Win + R key combination, enter the ncpa.cpl command and click on Ok. Right-click on the "Local Area Connection" adapter (if Windows 10, then "Ethernet") and select "Properties". Change the settings as in the screenshot below.
   IP address: 192.168.0.2. Mask: 255.255.255.0. Default gateway: 192.168.0.1.
4. You wrote that after resetting the settings, you can enter the D-Link DIR-615 into a mode when the Power indicator, Internet and 1 LAN are on. Do this and go to step 6. If it does not work out, then do everything in order (5 - 6 steps).
5. Further attention! The router must be turned on. Press the Reset button with something sharp and keep it pressed. We turn off the power of the router, and turn it on. Continuing to hold the Reset button for another 20 seconds.
6. After releasing the Reset button, we try to open the address in the browserhttp://192.168.0.1... You can try it in different browsers.
7. The Failsafe UI menu should appear.
   By clicking on the "Browse" button, select the firmware and start the update process.
8. The router should reboot and make money on the new firmware.
