Local network between PC and Android via mobile hotspot

Hello. Can you help by clarifying my problem.

There is a stationary computer with the Internet via cable and a wi-fi adapter, the computer has Windows 10, an Android tablet. I bought an adapter only for distributing the Internet to a tablet. The mobile hot spot on the top ten works great. But then I wanted more, so that from the tablet it was possible to play movies that are on the desk over the local Wi-Fi network. From the Android side, there seems to be no problem - there are many file manager programs with SMB support. The most convenient thing that people advise is http://w3bsit3-dns.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=138744, tk. it allows you to play streaming video. The instructions from the Internet cannot be configured. I want to ask you - is it possible at least theoretically, if yes, then I will try to figure it out further.

Thank you for your site and your work.

Answer

Hello. I understand your question.

Never asked this question. Will there be a local network between the computer and a mobile device that is connected via a hotspot. You can also try. You write that it was not possible to configure. As I understand it, the explorer installed on the ES phone did not find your computer on the local network. You may have configured something wrong.

1 On your computer, temporarily disable the antivirus. Completely, or a firewall built into it. Typically, it blocks such connections. You can also try disabling the built-in firewall in Windows 10.2 Also, on your computer, enable network discovery and file and folder sharing (then you can open the shared access to the required folder). This can be done in Control Panel All Control Panel Items Network and Sharing Center Advanced Sharing Options.

Save the settings.

3On a phone that is connected to a Wi-Fi network that is distributed by a computer, you need to go to the "Network" - "LAN" section in the ES Explorer program (if I'm not mistaken), click on the "Scan" button and your computer should appear there.

If the phone does not find it, then most likely it will not work with such a connection. You can also see another article setting up a local network via a Wi-Fi router. There I showed you how to connect to the network from Android devices.

And further... I believe you did a little wrong. You better buy an inexpensive router. All you spent on a Wi-Fi adapter for a PC. The Internet would be connected to a router. A computer to it via cable, and other devices via WiFi. Then the local network would definitely work. And then the "Mobile hotspot" is a very unstable function. Yes, and you need to keep the computer turned on all the time.
