Hello. Your help is very necessary. There is a TP-Link Archer C20 router and a TP-Link RE350 repeater. Previously, my repeater acted as a signal repeater from my router, but there were constant problems. Now I put the repeater in the access point mode (there is such a mode).

Tell me, in the repeater settings in this mode, what name should I set for wireless distribution? Same name as my router's network? I myself connected the repeater via a cable to the LAN connector of the router. And what other settings need to be changed in the settings of the access point or leave everything in AUTO mode? And another question. Can multiple devices connect to the access point? Thanks in advance.

Answer

Hello. Yes, TP-Link RE350 amplifier can work as an access point. That is, to teach the Internet from the router via cable and distribute it via Wi-Fi. You have already switched your repeater to AP mode. But I'll still show you how to do it, maybe someone else will come in handy. In the settings, click on the "Mode" (Mode) and select "Access Point". We save the repeater settings.

Next, we just connect the router to the repeater using a network cable. Your cable may be longer.

And all that remains is to configure the Wi-Fi network. You need to go to the repeater settings (if you closed the control panel) at tplinkrepeater.net, or 192.168.0.254. In the "Wireless Settings" section, you need to specify the Wi-Fi network name and password.

We save the settings.

I answer Timur's questions:

  1. You can set the name of the Wi-Fi network and the password you want. You can set the same name and password as on the main router. And then, most likely, there will be one network, between which the devices will switch automatically. As it was in repeater mode. Or you can set other settings on TP-Link RE350 and then there will be another Wi-Fi network in your house.
  2. Earlier in the article, I showed you which settings need to be changed.
  3. Yes, multiple devices can connect to the extender in AP mode. There is no limit to the number of Wi-Fi clients.

He seems to have described everything. You can answer in the comments.
