On Android smartphones and tablets, there is such a problem when, after connecting to a Wi-Fi network, a message appears that says "The Internet may not be available. Connect to another network." As far as I understand, such a message appears on mobile devices from Samsung. I tested on Samsung Galaxy J5. But models S7, S8, A5 and others also suffer from this problem.

Also, near the Wi-Fi network to which you are connected, the error "The Internet may not be available" appears, and near the Wi-Fi icon you can see a small exclamation mark. It looks like this:

Of course, Wi-Fi internet does not work. There is a Wi-Fi connection, but no Internet access.

This error can appear on a wide variety of devices. And not only on Android, and not only on mobile devices. It's just that depending on the device manufacturer, operating system, version, etc., the message may be different. That is, the wording simply changes. On computers, for example, this is "No Internet access", or "Restricted".

Now I will try to explain why this is happening, and what can be done to solve this problem on Android devices. Including smartphones from Samsung.

Why is there a Wi-Fi connection on Android without internet access?

I'm pretty sure that in this case the problem is on the side of the access point. It is important to understand here that connecting to a Wi-Fi network does not mean connecting to the Internet. Wi-Fi network can be without internet access. When, for example, the router is incorrectly configured and cannot connect to the Internet, when the provider has some problems, you did not pay for the Internet, etc.

In this case, it is very easy to check. Connect another device to this Wi-Fi network and check if the Internet is working on it. You can also connect your phone or tablet on which the "Internet may not be available" error appears to another wireless network. Through which there is access to the Internet and you are convinced of this.

Most likely, it turns out that there is no connection on any device. And this means that you need to solve the problem with the access point (router). If the network is yours, then you can see the second part of the article what to do if the router does not distribute the Internet. But first, just reboot your router.

If it turns out that the problem is only on one Android device, and with different networksthen try the following solutions:

If you know any other solutions, then you can write about them in the comments. And I will gladly add new information to the article. Good luck!
