The Internet disappears in half an hour, after setting up the UPVEL UR-104AN modem

Good afternoon. Sorry, I don't know where to turn anymore. We have an Internet connection at home via a telephone (cable from the street - through a splitter - one to the telephone, the second to the Upvel UR-104an modem.) Provider TTK Siberia. From the modem through two patchcords (to the system unit and to the tp-link TL-WR841N Wi Fi Router). When connected, the lights on the router power, dsl, Internet - light up as needed. But there is no connection on the PC (no network address assigned).

We dealt with the provider, reset the settings, re-hammered in - the Internet is enough for half an hour and again flies, although the modem's lights are on as well. I tried to drive in the parameters manually in the adapter settings - the Internet is there, but tp-link does not perceive them, and Wi Fi is needed.

It is advised to change the upvel modem, but can you tell me about this problem. Thank you very much.

Answer

Good afternoon. It is unlikely that I can blindly suggest something. View the settings of the modem, computer, etc.

How such a scheme (quite simple and popular) should work ideally: the Internet is connected to the modem. In your case, to UPVEL UR-104AN. The modem has all the parameters given by the provider (TTK Siberia). The modem connects to the internet and distributes it over a network cable.

Since the modem most likely has a DHCP server and it is enabled, it distributes IP addresses automatically. This means that the Internet should work on the computer immediately after connecting the network cable. Provided that in the properties of the network connection on the PC, it is necessary to automatically obtain an IP address.

In the same way, the Internet should automatically work through the TP-Link TL-WR841N router, after connecting the cable to the WAN port. Since by default there is a DHCP connection type (automatic obtaining of addresses).

What your problem is is difficult to understand. Check these options and give your answer in the comments:

  1. What exactly happens on the computer if you put automatic IP acquisition and connect the cable from the modem? What is the connection status, errors?
  2. In the UPVEL UR-104AN settings, you need to check if the DHCP server is enabled.
  3. Is your connection to your ISP set to UPVEL UR-104AN? Are you not running any connections on your computer?
  4. Where did you reset and reconfigure? On a modem? There should be a "Connect automatically" item, is it enabled?
  5. What parameters did you set in the adapter settings on the PC? In case of trouble, you can also specify them in the TP-Link settings. Selecting the connection type "Static IP".
    You can try.

Maybe it's some kind of problem in the modem itself, maybe the provider has something. Anything can be.
